As I continued doing my #research at the wee hours of this Monday morning, I couldn't help but felt the desire to share about why I wanted to succeed in what I do so badly.
My mum doesn't approve of me following my #passionsinlife because of a number of different reasons, but mostly because she thinks that I am not good enough and secondly, she believes there's a good chance I will fail because I am not good enough.
She worries about me, and I know that.
She's worried that I am in over my head.
Trying to explain to her about what I am trying to achieve would be fruitless because she doesn't really understand #technology and many of the things that surrounds that topic.
Trying to justify myself for trying to be myself would be useless because she just hopes that I would be more like both my sis and brother. (I'm different)
Though in her own mind, she hopes that I would stick to a 9-5 job and earn just enough to get by and be contented with life; I chose to believe that there's more to life than just that.
I could not accept that that is all there is to my life. I believed that there must be something more.
Boy am I glad I heeded that thought. Because had I not listened to that thought, I will probably never have discovered my purpose in life and I would never have this mission that gives me such a strong reason to keep fighting.
Yes, by succeeding at what I do will one day help potentially millions upon millions of lives.
But that is not my strongest motivation of all.
My strongest motivation is to show my mum that I can succeed in my own ways, and on my own terms and that I am more than what she believes about me.
I sincerely cannot change how she feels about me or the choices that I am making for my life, all I can do is do my very best and hope that one day, she will be able to come to terms with it in her own ways.
Today was a big @wagsrescuepa adoption event and foster Daddio brought me, but I refused to go in. It was just too overwhelming with too many people so I let him know I wanted to go back to the car. He said it isn’t worth having me terrified and forcing me to do anything so we went back home and now I’m playing with Pickles and all is right in the world. I probably won’t go to many adoption events right now because they are so scary, but we are still working on my training and overall I’m making lots of improvements socially. I have lots of fun at daycare and I like the humans there, and I feel safe with humans I know. Big groups of strangers? No thanks! I will do much better with private meet and greets with anyone who is interested in adopting me and you’ll be able to get to know me better! #nope#nottodaysatan#justgonnatakeanapinthecarnow#iwillwaithere#gimmesomecheeseforthis#skeptical#maybenexttime
So I saw this ad on Instagram earlier on this week. It says the secret to hitting PRS and lifting more repetitions of the same heavyweight that I'm lifting now is to buy this mouthpiece and use it when I'm lifting.
I called the people out and said it was total bull shenanigans and a lot of other people were agreeing with me, but it also seem like a lot of people were skeptical and wanting to believe that it was true, so I decided to see if anybody was interested by asking for likes and I'm going to do my own study on it. I'll probably try this for a couple weeks maybe a month and then post a follow-up Instagram post on whether or not it works.
I am totally not getting paid to do this at all. I feel like I'm going to look like a total doofus to in the gym with a big old giant mouthpiece. But I do enjoy making a fool out of myself sometimes so here goes nothing!

"The people who worry about technology are first, older people, second,...", said Jack Ma, Alibaba Group chairman.
To be sure, many elders have health issues; are less educated than their children; and are skeptical about tech. However, some receive training – from governments and companies – or price concessions.
A German study in 2005 found:
• Elderly Internet users have been on the rise for many years now. • Elders will lag behind younger audiences because many apps are not designed for them.
• Gender, education and socioeconomic status influence diffusion of technology. Still seniors can benefit using the Internet which grows with e–government, online shopping, and e-banking.
In a US study a decade later, Pew reported:
1. One group of Americans (65 or older) - older, less affluent, not so healthy - is disconnected from the digital world, physically and psychologically.
2. The other group - better-educated, more affluent, positive toward tech - use the internet and broadband at rates of the general public.
3. Seniors are more digitally connected than ever. In 2000, only 14% went online; 67% in 2017. 27% used Facebook. 27% owned a tablet or an e-book reader; 47% had broadband connection; 77% had a cell phone. *****************************************
The issue boils down to health, education, and demand for tech. Medical science has increased lifespans. People are having more education. Demand for tech by elders may not sustain as they do not need details or sophisticated apps. In fact, Luddites “resist modern technologies and dictate a return ...to a more primitive level”.
As of now, Alibaba chairman is more right than wrong. But as studies revealed, the generation gap is narrowing. In the coming years, those who "hate" tech could conceivably be the older older people who do not need details or apps, with no hatred.

Repost from @seeker_of_the_cosmos In everyday usage, "theory" often refers to a hunch or a speculation. When people say, "I have a theory about why that happened," they are often drawing a conclusion based on fragmentary or inconclusive evidence.
The formal scientific definition of theory is quite different from the everyday meaning of the word. It refers to a comprehensive explanation of some aspect of nature that is supported by a vast body of evidence.
Many scientific theories are so well-established that no new evidence is likely to alter them substantially. For example, no new evidence will demonstrate that the Earth does not orbit around the sun (heliocentric theory), or that living things are not made of cells (cell theory), that matter is not composed of atoms, or that the surface of the Earth is not divided into solid plates that have moved over geological timescales (the theory of plate tectonics). Like these other foundational scientific theories, the theory of evolution is supported by so many observations and confirming experiments that scientists are confident that the basic components of the theory will not be overturned by new evidence.
Because the evidence supporting it is so strong, scientists no longer question whether biological evolution has occurred and is continuing to occur. Instead, they investigate the mechanisms of evolution, how rapidly evolution can take place, and related questions. #mattdillahunty#atheism#atheist#nogod#noreligion#godless#secular#agnostic#agnosticatheist#antireligion#atheistposts#atheistquote#skeptical#skeptic#atheistcommunity#atheisthumor#atheistmemes#atheistmeme#irreligious#antitheist#atheistquotes#secularhumanist#humanist
