Hit and miss?!
If you're a jammer approaching blockers, you've realistically got 2 options; brace for impact or avoid the impact.
I've been focused lately on avoiding contact wherever possible, getting low and removing my body from contact, but when it's not possible you have to brace to give force back in an effective and legal manner.
Here I'm showing how this works out in gameplay and also how I'm trying to work on these movements and unpredictable hits off skates.
I'll set the bag swinging and sprint up and down past it and try and duck down away from the contact or brace to take the hit - just like in the gameplay.
Obviously it's nothing like being hit by a blocker but it's certainly helping me to adjust my movements and build the muscle memory for adapting when it comes to training and games.
This is a great short exercise that you can add to the end of your workout.
