I made some homemade chicken and rice last night. And I swear my #daddy was all around me. This morning I need to celebrate the WINS of my mother-in-law, Sheri! A year ago she made the decision to trust me as her personal coach and cheerleader to start her Health and Fitness journey. Kimber (on the right) is my daughter from my 1st marriage. When her Dad and I divorced, it was just to two of us.
Fast forward ... Then I met Beau, Olivia’s (on the left) Father. I was incredibly blessed to not only find love in a husband, but also gain the love of a daughter.
Olivia was a senior in high school when I met her and I wasn’t sure how she would take this new lady in her life. I wasn’t sure about teenagers at the time.
But she was kind, mature and accepting. And over the years, we have built an amazing friendship.
But it’s not just our relationship that has impacted my life in so many positive ways, it’s the relationship she has with my little Kimber.
Olivia talks with her, takes her shopping and to the movies, practices putting on makeup with her...all those fun things I wish I had as a girl growing up.
Now Kimber has this and I’m so grateful.
As Kimber’s Mom, I am here for her always. But I’m realistic in that a time may come when “Mom doesn’t understand or know anything!” Olivia is a strong women in Kimber’s life to help her grow into a confident and kind women.
All young women have an opportunity to be a strong role model for your girls...not just moms!
Yep, it’s a little late for my Morning Mindset post once again... but I saw this in my memories from a year ago and had to share again! Long read, but praying it speaks to you! Seeing all the memories starting to come back up from when I started my own health and fitness journey, continues to make me thankful that I did!
Let's dig a little deeper with this verse and have an "AHHA" moment. Not only can this scripture be referring to the love that we show towards others... this is also referring to the love we show ourselves. It has been on my heart recently to remind other women (and men likewise) that it is OKAY to accept a complement from someone.
Is there anyone else out there that feels like if they just say "thank you" when people pay you a compliment that you may come across as conceited? 🙋🏼 This is such a sad state of mind to be in, but I've been there and I'm still working on that. Many of us feel the need to reply with a negative comment about ourselves when someone praises us for something we have done or compliments us on our appearance. It is okay to be proud of the hard work you have put into a situation or more specifically, your health and fitness. BE PROUD OF YOURSELF.... it's okay, I promise! A special thank you to my husband Joseph and my sister Ashley for finally helping me understand over the past year that it is okay to accept a compliment (and gets annoying to always reply with something negative about yourself!)
It is not okay, however, to speak negative to yourself.... whether you are thinking it or speaking it out loud. It hurts my heart so much when I hear people saying "I'm so fat" or "I hate the way I look" or " I can't do that". I have been the one saying these things and many other negative and degrading comments to myself multiple times in the past. (Side note... I despise the word fat just for the record if you care to make a mental note!)
So please don't always feel like you have to find the "dirt" in yourself. You deserve to lift yourself up as much as you empower others. Find the ✨GOLD✨in yourself today!! #selflove#blessed#saythankyou

So many times I am guilty of saying the first thing that comes to my mind when I respond to someone. Do you ever feel like you need to invest in a filter that helps you slow your role with your thoughts and what comes out of your mouth? 🙋🏼♀️🤐
Let’s imagine the Holy Spirit as our “personal filter”... in the same way that a lot of us use water filters -Follow me here for a minute. 💦
Without a water filter, we can still get water out of our sink, refrigerator, etc... but if we want the highest quality of water that we can get from our home, we want to have that filter installed and make sure it’s cleaned and up to date! ❤️
Split second prayers to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your words and responses before you speak... IS your personal filter. We have to continue to keep a check on the flow of our thoughts and words and make sure we are letting the Holy Spirit work through us! Let’s make an effort today to be more aware of the words that are coming out of our mouth!
The picture on the left showed up in my memories today from 3 years ago. So much has changed physically and mentally between these two pictures. I realize losing over 90 lbs between the two of us is a big deal, but I can assure you the most rewarding weight we have lost has been between our ears!
We have a tendency to carry the most weight between our ears... thinking negative thoughts, telling ourselves we can’t reach goals, we aren’t worthy of living a healthy life, we could never be happy, making excuses for everything and letting the enemy tear us down. •••
Stop letting that weigh you down and hold you back! You are worthy and you are made for more! You CAN do the things that may look out of reach right now and reach those goals girlfriend! Stop watching others around you achieve the things you have been secretly dreaming of celebrating yourself! IT’S YOUR TIME to make a change, and it’s OKAY to take care of yourself!! You are able to give others your best when you take care of yourself first! 😘💕

Often times we focus on ways that God has blessed us and brought joy into our lives... as we should! But have we also stopped to think that God is also blessed by us, His children. Just as we are blessed and our cups are filled when we spend quality time with Him, our sacrifice of that quiet time devoted to Him brings him joy and blesses Him! •••
Personally, my days flow completely different when I have quiet time devoted to Him first thing in the morning. The blessings do “flow like streams of living water” throughout my day! It’s not alway easy when we want to sleep in and press that snooze button, but tomorrow morning I’m making it a priority again to wake up earlier and start my days off right! •••

I may have been down for the count with my workouts this week, but I am doing pretty well with keeping my nutrition in check in the meantime to help stay on track with my health and wellness! Okay okay, perhaps I had a handful of dark choc chips before dinner LOL. I’m still totally okay with that because I track my treats 😜.

I highly recommend taking less than 4 minutes out of your day and listen to this song! Please listen to these words and let them speak to you! Just wow! I heard this song for the first time on the way home yesterday and had to look it up! If you ever question God’s love for you or if you feel like you have done “too much wrong” to be worthy of His grace and forgiveness, always remember that you are FULLY KNOWN (including all the mess) and STILL LOVED by God!

This morning I’m soaking in the beautiful weather and doing some back porch sitting while eating breakfast and having devotional time.
Often times our flesh mentality is to survive. We find ourselves in survival mode just to get through the week day by day, instead of actually thriving and living in pure joy and happiness as we are here on this Earth.
Rather than keeping our eyes on the ultimate end destination, Heaven, it’s easy to get side tracked and boggled down by all the detours and pot holes on our path.
Just remember, He’s got us and will always be walking right there with us through it all!

Thankful that we woke up this morning. Thankful that our feet hit the floor when we got our of bed. Thankful for a bed to sleep in. Thankful for shelter to live under that provides safety and comfort for us. Thankful for food in our kitchen to fuel our bodies. Thankful for our health. Thankful for restoration of our health and renewal of our mind. Thankful for Family and Friends. Thankful that we can ultimately return into our Creator’s arms the numerous times we fall and feel like we can’t get back up!
