This organization has a special place in my heart. I’ve always had a place in my heart for India. Shadhika was also an organization I was blessed with the opportunity to consult for my senior project in Nonprofit Leadership. They address gender inequality in India by investing in education, empowerment, and economic self-sufficiency.⠀⠀
Healing Waters International’s goal is to end the global water crisis. They’ve also partnered with @compassion— a nonprofit my family has long supported! ⠀
Joyful Heart Foundation aims to create a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. Its founder, @therealmariskahargitay, started it after her role on Law & Order: Special Victims’ Unit opened her eyes to the statistics of sexual violence in the United States. ⠀⠀⠀

Lately when I scroll Instagram, I feel drained. And you know what? I know that I’m not alone. 💔⠀
It is my goal for this upcoming year to connect, uplift, and inspire others. But I can’t do that if I don’t help myself first. I’m working to eliminate extra junk from my life. I’ve canceled makeup subscription boxes, downsized my closet, and I’m focusing on the relationships that fill my heart.⠀
The Midwest Blonde is an extension of who I am. So as I shift towards living a healthier life in all aspects, I am excited to share it with all of you. Including sharing the women who inspire me over this upcoming year. ♥️⠀

Everyone gets super hyped about TRANSFORMING their eating habits, their mindset, their physical activity, their energy levels, and overall health when the new year comes. Do you have a plan in place for when it does get here? January will be knocking on the door before we know it and then February and March following right behind! Hope is not a strategy when it comes to making your health a priority and being the best version of yourself for your parents, your spouse, your children, your siblings, and your friends!

Many look to the new year as a time to start working on their health. Why in the world would you not want to be a month ahead of yourself and already working on feeling your best! Like I said before, nothing magical happens on January 1 that throws all excuses out the window. Obstacles will always arise, you just have to make the decision that it’s time for a change!

My prayer is that someone watching my journey will know that there is hope for them. I don’t want anyone to think that I jump up every morning excited about working out... or have all the time in the world to meal prep. You have to DECIDE that you are going to make your health a priority and you are going to be the best version of yourself for your family. Breaking the cycle of obesity and emotional eating in my family is so very important to me. I want to set a healthier example and create a NEW NORMAL for my future children, my friends, and my family.
Sometimes it’s hard to find a way out. I’ve been there, trust me. Sometimes you just have to lean in for support from someone that knows how to help! So blessed and thankful to have a toolbox of resources to coach others in their current season to help them get unstuck too!
I would love to share with you what worked for me! 💕
P.S. There’s nothing magical that happens on January 1 that makes the journey any easier. There will always be something that can become an excuse! I'm thankful for the difficult and challenging times that God has me going through right now because then I wouldn't have pushed myself to start working on starting my own business. I'm also thankful for my sister @msolorzano0830 who has been nothing but supportive every time and especially during this time. But most of all I'm thankful for my mom who is the strongest, loving, caring person I know.
I didn’t expect it to be this long, but when you have a passion for something, the words keep flowing!
👉🏻I don’t have time to fix healthier food options.
👉🏻I don’t have the extra money to spend on buying healthier foods or a superfoods shake.
👉🏻I’m a picky eater and I don’t like to try new things.
Okay, okay.... I get it! I hear these reasons all the time when someone WANTS to make a change and get back on a healthier path. But let’s be real... these are excuses we tell ourselves to go ahead and prepare the mind that “it’s okay if I fail or stay stuck, because x, y, and z.”
It’s NOT OKAY to stay stuck and want better for yourself! Sometimes we can’t get unstuck by ourself, and it’s okay to ask for help-I did! Also be willing to learn and grow, because if your stuck... chances are your current routine isn’t working!
What you see in this picture is my Fast Food Breakfast! It took 5 minutes out of my morning to make my superfoods shake ( it can take less time, but I prefer to make it like ice cream!) and it cost less than stoping for your specialty coffee! Saving time and money! ⏰💲
We all have the same amount of time in the day. You make time for what you want and set as a priority in your life.
Money will always be an obstacle when having the mindset that investing in your health is optional. (Woah, did you hear me in the #backrow ?) But, we don’t think twice about spending tons of money on medications to try to keep us “well”... I know I didn’t!
So if you think you don’t have time or money to make your health a priority I want you to think about this...
How many times did you go through a drive through last week or order take out? How much did you spend on groceries last week? How many times did you stop for coffee? Did you get your hair or nails done? Maybe a massage?
Putting your health first is also self-care! Not only is it for yourself, but it’s so you can give your best to others! You can’t pour from an empty cup!
I have a passion for showing others the way out of their stuck like someone showed me! I’m here to help if you are ready! 💞

How many times have you heard the saying “planting new seeds”? When it comes to positive thoughts and a mindset that reduces limited beliefs, yes it is so important to speak positive affirmations each day and plant those seeds. However, it is just as important to dig up the old seeds as you are planting the new ones. If we don’t find the root problem or situation that causes us to create the limited beliefs in ourself, we are just putting a bandaid over it and not actually removing those limitations all together. ...
If you grew up in a home where finances were always a struggle, but one of your life goals is to work hard and have more than enough money to just “get by”...an old seed that may need to be dug up is a survival mode mindset.
Instead of looking day to day just trying to survive and spending everything that is extra, it’s important to take steps to prepare for the future too! So instead of just having an affirmation of “I will have an abundance in my finances and not have to struggle”, you could say “I will have an abundance in my finances and not have to struggle because I am preparing for the future by saving money, and making smarter financial and career decisions that will better myself and my family.”
This thought process is important in all categories of limited beliefs that you are telling yourself. Whether it be finances, success in a career, overcoming an addiction, living a healthier lifestyle, etc.
Speak life over yourself! I’m still a working progress and taking bandaids off each day and digging up more seeds while planting new ones!

I get this all the time - “I would love to follow a workout program like you but I go to the gym”.
Tell me why this is a problem!? The gym is simply a PLACE! Nobody regiments what you’re doing when you get there! And for me that was my BIGGEST struggle when I started working out over 4 years ago at a gym - I had no freaking clue WHAT to do, HOW to do it or if it was going to get me RESULTS! (Which I desperately needed shoving myself into my too tight clothes from high school 😷)
I choose to workout at home - because I hate when people watch me 😂 But these workouts can EASILY be taken to the gym! It’s literally having a virtual personal trainer in your ear telling you exactly what to do. And personally? I’d rather not spend my time creating workouts I think will work. I simply press play + do from WHEREVER I am - at home, at the lake, or at the gym 🙌🏼
