Two things can be true at once. For example, I can be simultaneously grateful to everyone who told me that I HAD to watch Paddington 2 because it’s the best movie of all time and also really angry with those same people for not warning me that if I wasn’t sober when I watched it, I would wind up openly sobbing at the end like an embarrassing weirdo.
Similarly, I believe that many Japanese whiskies are worth their weight in gold on account of the complexity of what’s in your glass, but I also believe that not every pour needs to be a pricy, Earth-shattering revelation. This Nikka Coffey Malt whisky is a solid, reasonably-priced bottle that can be sipped casually, paired with food or poured for guests with many palette types. It’s not the most decadent or nuanced dram, but damn it’s a fantastic whisky for the price. I could drink this every day! 🥃🇯🇵

It’s always special getting to meet my supporters from around the world face to face.
A massive thank you to @ashesnembers for having me, and the city of New Jersey for showing a brother love on my visit last night. Here’s a quick recap from the event. Enjoy!
P.S Where do we go from here? 🤔 drop any suggestions, or your favorite Cigar lounge/ Restaurant below.🥂❤️
The Aberlour Abundah ‘Ah-boon-ar’ varies based on batches, but I find earlier ones, like this #49 to be somewhat more rounded and better at releasing the cask strength without giving a burn. Though I like high strength whisky I find myself adding a little bit of water to really open the Christmas fruitcake flavours that I seek. It’s quite sweet too, so to help offset, I like to enjoy it with dark 70% Lindt chocolate to help balance the whisky. Slainte!
Enjoying a Sunday night dram with my pop @100straightleather , and a fine one at that! @bunnahabhain #ceobanach doesn’t disappoint. Peat in the nose, but sweet and salty on the palate. Vanilla and florals with a long finish. I highly recommend this one. #whisky#scotch#islaywhisky#singlemalt
