You got to have something you can lose yourself in
I miss surfing, like A LOT and a most of it is due to the fact that October was that weird awkward season where you can sort of hike and barely mountain bike because there's already too much snow on the trails. The thing is, as long as I have 1 sport to lose myself in, I'm good. But it's been more than a month since that's happened and so it makes me miss surfing.
The point is that losing yourself is not only good for your physical well being, but also your mental wellbeing. It doesn't matter if you Iive in a big house or an RV or you travel full time or you don't, there's always a little bit of chaos going on in our lives that you need an escape from
You've got to have a passion where nothing matters but the thing you're doing. Most people do have sport they can lose themself in, it's just a matter of making time for it. If not, well, I can relate. I have 4 sports I can lose myself in (climbing, biking, surfing, and hiking) but in the middle of the snow in Colorado I can't do any of them.
Tomorrow, I'm going snowboarding for like my third time ever. I suck at snowboarding and obviously I'm not passionate about it if I can barely get down the mountain. But the thing is it's my only option right now and I know that if I practice every day I might be able to start losing myself in a sport again.
What sport do you lose yourself in? Do you make time to do it almost every day?
If you have a passion, go make time for it and lose yourself in it. If not, think of something you've always wanted to do and go practice it until you can lose yourself in it.
