The team had a fantastic time visiting the @MountGayRumTours team yesterday! Rum has been invaluable to the @RoyalNavy. Back in the 1700’s, trying to keep water fresh for long journeys was a hard task to achieve so Vice Admiral Edward Vernon introduced ‘Grog’ into the Naval Squadron he commanded. Rum was added to the barrels of stagnant water to make it more palatable to drink. With 4 parts water to 1 part rum, this drink became a stable for Sailors for more than 2 centuries. Many thanks to @mountgayrum for a fantastic day as well as an education into our own history.
Yesterday saw the team participating in some team-building activities on board Jammin’ - highly recommended! We even made some new friends when trying out some snorkelling 🐢 today we are off on a cultural trip, standby for updates!
