The sibling rivalry begins... Our nanny complemented Margaux on her bow yesterday. Not to be outdone, Dex picked out the biggest bow he could find at @happyhannas and proceeded to one-up his baby sister all afternoon. #siblingrivalry#inthenameoffashion
Ellie would have been around 3.
She was playing upstairs in her bedroom.
We had an old bed frame leaned up against the wall. The room is narrow so even if it fell it only moved a few inches before reaching the facing wall. It couldn't land on anyone.
The children used it to climb on. It was a great height. The slats formed a ladder and the top bit was like a hanging bar to swing on.
If they fell it was about four foot at the highest point... Lower than most play grounds!
One day Ellie was upstairs and we heard a cry. She came down and we had a cuddle and I surmised that she had fallen from about half way (2 foot) but she had banged her mouth.
She was forever bumping her mouth, I was used to it.
I spotted blood and gave her a cuddle and waited for her to calm down so I could look.
She lifted her head up to speak to me when all of a sudden my sister gasped 'has she lost a tooth?' I quickly looked and realised my sister was right 🙈🙈🙈 she had knocked out a blooming tooth!!! Queue me searching the bedroom high and low for the thing!
Ellie was thrilled! Upset and pain forgotten, all interest now on having a visit from the tooth fairy... While her poor brother fumed that his sister had beaten him to such a monumental milestone!
He still laments that it wasn't him first to this day!
Soooo, a few things. Do you notice anything different?
1) I found out I need glasses a few days ago! 👵🏼😂 2) I found these reader glasses @walgreens today to use until my prescription glasses come in. My saving grace!!! It’s super weird wearing them right now but it’s nice that my eyes aren’t hurting or feeling strained. 🤓
3) My brother @real_jamesowens is over the moon happy that I finally have to wear glasses (it’s a sibling thing 🤣) 4)We bought our first ever artificial Christmas tree from @kingofchristmas and we LOVE it!!! It’s a 9ft prince flocked and I can’t wait to decorate! #readingglasses#siblingrivalry#kingofchristmas
Some clever fella once said if you want to avoid sibling rivalry, only have one child!
Don't poke the bear seems the catch cry in our household. The strength of each sibling lies in their innate ability to quickly and precisely identify their sibling's unique pressure points and BOOM!!
What's your go-to sibling situation diffuser?
Fightin' babies! Lol. This last week's #Torah portion was about #siblingrivalry with two brothers, Esau and Jacob, who were #twins that fought even in their mama's womb! Esau was a traveling man who cared more about exploring the world #hunting game than settling down and taking on the #responsibilities of the first born. One day he came back starving (really makes me wonder about that man's hunting skills since he came back empty handed and starving. Just sayin') and his smaller bookworm of a brother Jacob was cooking up a mighty fine stew of lentils. Esau was all "gimme" but naw... Jacob was smart and got his brother to exchange his birthright for food. So Jacob got the physical blessings. Later when their Pa was dying, Jacob impersonated Esau to get Pa's spiritual blessing. Isaac their Pa was going to bless Esau based not off of logic, but rather "feelings" because he liked it when Esau brought him back tasty meat. Smh. Sounds like some employers I have had. Lol. Then Esau gets an attitude towards his mama and goes and marries not 1 but TWO Hittite chicks knowing full well that would tick off his mama. So much for honoring your mother there buddy. Have you ever heard the saying that "it's the quiet ones you have to watch out for"? Well that was Jacob! So for awhile Esau wanted to hunt down Jacob and kill him, but he didn't. Again I wonder about his hunting skills. Lol. Thankfully much later the boys reconciled but it was Jacob who became #Israel thankfully. #babies#brothers#twins#fight#esau#Jacob#hunt#trickster#Shalom#yeshuahamashiach#Hashem
We’d like to introduce you to Buster’s baby sister, Flossy. She joined us just over a week a go and today the siblings met for the first time. Buster gave it the ‘big-un’ as you’d expect. Man around the house, trying to make a stand. Flossy on the other hand was cool, calm and collective. Just goes to show, doesn’t matter what species you are, us girls always know how to play the cards we’re dealt 💁🏻♀️. #newsister#siblingrivalry#thisloveisgoingtobeagrower#rescue#burwellsbuster#heroprincess @furballz_uk
Since Nancy becoming a walking toddler with a "what's yours is mine" attitude, relations have been somewhat strained between these two.
Florence was the baby of the family for 3 years and was fully used to her sisters giving in to her every whim. But then along came the whirling dervish who pays no attention to rules of ownership, and the balance has been tipped. .
Scenes like this make me think we've turned a corner and they're hopefully going to be friends, rather than rivals! .
I read once that having a new baby made your existing kids feel like you'd feel if your partner got a new wife/husband and said "they're living with us from now on and I love them too." I've always had mega guilt after that, as that's my worst nightmare.. or one of, as I wouldn't like to be trapped in a room with daddy long legs or rabbits. .
