En prehab-övning jag körde idag som stärker skulderbladen och minimerar även risken att få ont i axlar. Serratus anterior heter muskeln som jobbar.
This prehab workout makes the shoulder blades stronger and minimize the risk of getting pain in your shoulders. Serratus anterior is the name of the muscle that is working. #serratusanterior#prehab#shoulder#shoulderblade#axel#skuldra#skulderblad
Long post alert.. But Issa good read for every woman 😜😊. It personally speaks a lot to me.
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
Enough money within her control to move out...
And rent a place of her own
even if she never wants to
or needs to... Something perfect to wear if the employer
or date of her dreams wants to See Her in an hour... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...
A youth she's content to leave behind.... A past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her Old Age... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE .
A set of screwdrivers,
a cordless drill, and a black lace bra... One friend who always makes her laugh...
And one Who lets her cry... A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ....
A good piece of furniture not previously owned
by anyone else in her Family... Eight matching plates,
wine glasses with stems,
And a recipe for a meal that will make
her guests feel Honored... A feeling of control over her destiny... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
How to fall in love without losing herself.. HOW TO QUIT A JOB,
BREAK UP WITH A LOVER,
AND CONFRONT A FRIEND WITHOUT
RUINING THE FRIENDSHIP... When to try harder...
And WHEN TO WALK AWAY... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW... That she can't change the length of her calves,
The width of her hips,
or the nature of her parents.. That her childhood may not have been perfect...
But it's over... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she would and wouldn't do for love or more... How to live alone...
Even if she doesn't like it... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Whom she can trust,
Whom she can't,
And why she shouldn't take it personally... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
Where to go...
Be it to her best friend's kitchen table...
Or a charming inn in the woods...
When her soul needs soothing... EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...
What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
And a year. Pamela Redmond Satran
Many people have poor movement of the scapulae in exercises like push-ups and the bench press. This shoulder warm-up teaches you how to properly retract and protract your shoulder blades. The key here is to keep the elbows straight throughout the exercise. Reach forward using the weight to get a big stretch in the rhomboids and traps, then SQUEEZE your shoulder blades together and feel those muscles contract. Use this movement before your next big chest or shoulder workout! You can also do this movement with a lat pull-down machine, which would reinforce elevation and depression of the shoulders.
The scapulothoracic joint involves an articulation between the scapula (shoulder blade) and the rib cage. Interestingly, this ‘joint’ is not actually a true joint as it does not possess many of the typical structures associated with our other freely moveable joints including a joint capsule and synovial fluid. In fact, our scapulothoracic joint is controlled largely by the surrounding musculature, except for the AC joint where the acromion process of the scapula attaches to the collarbone.
Clinically, the scapulothoracic joint is interesting because the vast majority of people barely know it exists and even less people have any idea of how to control its movement. With so many movements possible including elevation, depression, upward and downward rotation, protraction and retraction and anterior/posterior tipping, there is much to see when it comes to this unique region of the body.
This video from @organic_movements_ was originally brought to my attention by @docjenfit and is excellent for demonstrating the various movements of the scapulothoracic joint as this individual clearly demonstrates superior awareness and motor control.

So while growing up a bigger girl I never in my life would have dreamed that I would have beautiful shoulder's/ collar bone. I was always so jealous of girls where you could see their wings and their beautiful neck lines. And now after losing all my weight I am absolutely in love with my collarbone/neckline! I still can't believe it, I always have that feeling like I'm still big, but then I look at pictures of myself like this and damn I'm proud of what I have accomplished! 😍👌🙌
✅Lower trapezius is an important muscle of the shoulder complex, especially as it relates to movement of the shoulder blade when raising the arm overhead. Lower trapezius dysfunction has been tied to disorders such as shoulder impingement and shoulder instability.
🏋🏼♂️Read below for a review of lower trapezius anatomy (from @fitnessphysio) and swipe left to see an exercise for strengthening this muscle from @wilk_kevin.
LOWER TRAPEZIUS ANATOMY:
- Procc. spinosi of TV-TXII
- Spina scapulae
- Draws the scapula medially downward (supports the rotating action of the Upper Trapezius)
- N. accessorius (CN XI) and plexus cervicalis (C2-C4)

What is it to speak our truth? It's to lay bare the highway of communication between heart and brain, emotion and mind, Jiva and Brahman. It's the moving beyond the obsession of wrapping your body into contortions and immersing in the sublime unwrapping of heart and mind. The shoulder girdle is the toll booth on the road from heart to brain. By addressing its sweet balance we can have profound effect not just in our yoga postures but in our lives.
How we carry our shoulders in life speaks volumes. Whether rounded forward, hiked up around the ears or even pulled down the back, an exaggerated shoulder girdle creates disharmony and reuniting with its intelligence can free pain, provide more mobility and foster a sweeter more connected communication between the heart and the mind.
Join us as we examine technologies that I have seen to be immediately beneficial to my own body and numerous students over the years. Come empower yourself and your students to stop pulling ourselves apart and start reuniting our body, heart and mind.
