“Beating cancer one step at a time.” - @crukraceforlife .
Surrounded by women running for those who are fighting cancer or in memory of loved ones, I was truly touched by the amount of enthusiasm and positivity. .
Although it’s been many months, the ups and downs since diagnosis haven’t made it any easier. I’m constantly overwhelmed with fear - fear of whether I have been doing my part alright as a carer, whether we are making the right treatment decisions, and whether we still have time... .
I’m still learning to accept that all the above are beyond our control, but at least I have to be responsible for my own health and wellbeing in order to keep going.
Training for this 10k race has taught me how to pace myself, how to stay physically and mentally fit for longer stretches and deal with bumpy patches along the way. .
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the supportive messages and generous donations for Cancer Research UK. Without you, I wouldn’t have managed to beat my personal record whilst running for this great cause (; .
Great news is with your support, I’ve exceeded my initial fundraising target (thanks guys)! I’ll be keeping the page opened for another couple of days - link in bio. All donations will directly support efforts to advance our understanding for cancer and get closer to identifying effective treatments. .
Thanks again for helping us fight cancer together!!
