This cold and miserable #melbourne weather has me reminiscing about the day we went swimming off this pier in Kells, Co. Kerry, #ireland about a month ago 🙌🏼☀️🐠It was 28degrees and the water of the #atlanticocean was simply unreal💧👌🏼💫
Mesoamerican s played a ball game where two teams from different villages played against each other. This game was often played with a 9 pound leather ball. No hands were allowed and the point was each team had to score a goal through a tiny ring often placed way above their heads using feet, legs or head (sorta like soccer.) I've been to both Aztec temples and Mayan temples. Both play this game with rules changing ever so slightly. One interesting fact I have learned in visiting another ruin was that The captain of the winning team head was chopped off as a sacrifice to their gods. This was a huge honor.
