Cool, my soul is already aching for another trip.
This is the first weekend that I spent at home in last 1.5 months. So much that now my house feels like a new place to me because I shifted here 2 months ago lol.
And I already feel I wasted so much time not travelling this weekend. But I guess self care is equally important. This picture was a bit of a reminder to self that there's much more to see and explore!
Also, about the photograph-
It is believed by the locals that the big Buddha statue looks after them and protects them from the bad and calamities that may occur in mountains. And, regarding the 'Munseeling' written on the mountain, I asked a local cab driver how do they do it exactly because I had seen different words written on different mountains across Spiti and it was very intriguing. He told me, he had in fact painted this one, with fellow locals. He told me, multiple local men gather everyday early morning and trek to that place and paint it in daylight and complete it in a week or so. Its just their way of decorating their neighbourhood. They actually do it like a project for the love of it. :) I wish we could love our cities even 1/10th of that much. :')
