Bhagwan Hanuman statue of 108 feet long is towering above deodars at Jakhoo Hill, #Shimla . The highest point of the city, Jakhoo Hill is covered with Alpine trees.
Worshipped by many who wish to gain courage and strength in their lives, Lord Hanuman is probably one of the most celebrated and revered figures in the #Hindu scriptures.
Pawanputra Hanuman was an incarnation of Bhagwan Shiva and is considered to be an exemplification of strength, devotion, and perseverance.
According to Indian scriptures the flat summit of Jakhoo Hill appeared when Hanuman ji decided to take rest while searching for a life saving Sanjeevni booti(Panacea Herb) during the battle of Ramayana. Legends says, while flying over the mountains Lord Hanuman landed a foot here which created a flat ridge at Jakhoo Hill top & left the huge foot print over there. Now it is believed that the present Jakhoo temple was constructed over that foot print of great God Hanuman Ji. .
