I have fallen off the #sewphotohop train but the "What I'm [he's] wearing today" prompt works out. Andy took out a gnarly thorny bush today so I made him a new #fairfieldbuttonup flannel. He was understandably tuckered out when it was time to take a photo so he wanted to stay in his comfy pants. That works too though because they're #hudsonpants that I made him last fall.
My face when I finally get to start sharing what I've been working on for months!!!

@36Pieces comes from a place of wanting to think about my clothes more purposefully. And the way I'm doing that is by slowing down and thinking about my closet seasonally. Over the next year I will be making 9 piece collections for each season, starting with Fall 2018. Which means that this #squarenecktop is the first of 36 Pieces I will be making this year. I'm THRILLED to finally be able to share this project with you all and so excited to show you the rest of my fall collection in the coming weeks!!
So, I’m soooooo far behind with the #sewphotohop lol this photo is just a place holder in all honesty. I have made SEW many friends through sewing, there is no way to include everyone. I literally have around fifteen people i interact with daily online that I met bc of sewing! We swap ideas, chat about new pattern releases and upcoming fabric ventures. I love it. Sewing has brought me into this AMAZING ALL INCLUSIVE community. I don’t get fat shamed. People are extremely protective of each other, even total strangers. It’s just one of the better heart lightening experiences I have ever had. 💓💓💓💓💓 #sewcial#sewcialists#sewing#sewcialist#isew#sew#babylock#husqvarna#kenmore#coverstitch#evolution#embroidery#crafterslife#makersgonnamake
I’ve spent the day sewing my slip dress together, which included learning how to sew French seams for the very first time! 🇫🇷 •
I was surprised by how easy they were after I got my head round sewing wrong sides together 😂🧐•
What have you all been sewing today?
#sewphotohop I'm wearing this today... Raglan sleeve dess and kimono both handmade! This kimono is one of the first things I have ever made ✂️ It is nowhere near perfect but its one of my favorites since the knit is so soft and the print so bright and happy. Perfect for a lazy Saturday 😊

Light jacket weather is upon us in Chi! Ignore the weird tucked in piece/collar overlap action happening. Although i guess this is what you get when your Instagram husband has to snap a pic in five seconds before a swarm of people walks by. @grainlinestudio #tamarackjacket#isew#sewcialists
Spent a sick day in bed thinking about aaaaaall the things I want to make 🙈 these two pictures are from my Pinterest inspiration board for a/w, and if you swipe <<< you will see the poly-viscose I picked up to try and recreate one of these looks....but which one?? 🤔 I have a suitable pattern for the trousers on the right, but struggling to find a pattern for the left. Any suggestions? Which style would you make with this fabric?
I am super excited to share this make. It turned out better than I imagined it to be. I had initially planned to make a dress, but realized there was a defect in the fabric. Changed my plans to make it a blouse instead, so I can get rid of the defective part. The ruffle on the sleeve was made out of the part, that was cut off which worked out even better. Fabric - Polyester/Lycra Jacquard Double Knit
Sooooo.... I missed #followfriday cuz idk what day it is anymore but regardless I’m not wearing anything fun for today’s #sewphotohop prompt cause I’m at work so I want to tell y’all about @leila.amber who makes beautiful & inspiring clothing like this pretty woman inspired skirt and you should all go follow her right now k byeeeeee.
I made this dress on Friday night for the most excellent St Ives medieval faire that's on this weekend. There was so much to see, I wish we could have done both days. The last photo was what I based my dress on.
To my #Vancouver#sewing community: I’m visiting Vancouver next week and want to know which fabric stores you recommend visiting?
Hopefully I’ll be able to sneak some time in to visit the fabric stores, might have to drag my traveling friend with me! 😊😊😊
