Podemos hacer tahini en casa con tan sólo un ingrediente: semillas de sésamo. Es muy fácil y también más económico y saludable que el envasado.

INGREDIENTES
2 tazas de semillas de sésamo (290 g). Yo prefiero usar semillas de sésamo crudas, blancas y sin cáscara, pero se pueden usar cualquier tipo de semillas de sésamo.

INSTRUCCIONES
Ponemos las semillas de sésamo crudas en una sartén seca y las tostamos a fuego medio durante unos 5 minutos, removiendo constantemente. Hay que tener cuidado de que no se quemen o se cocinen demasiado porque si no el tahini estará muy amargo. Tenemos que cocinarlas hasta que se doren ligeramente y podamos notar su olor, pero no tienen que estar marrones.
Apartamos del fuego y dejamos que se enfríen un poco (unos 5 ó 10 minutos).
Ponemos las semillas de sésamo en un procesador de alimentos o en una batidora potente y batimos hasta que obtengamos una pasta con la consistencia que queramos. En nuestro procesador en 10 minutos está lista, pero queda más pastosa, así que nosotros la dejamos 15 minutos para que tenga la textura de las fotos.
Guardamos el tahini en un recipiente hermético, mejor en la nevera, durante un mes o incluso durante más tiempo.
Podéis usar este tahini para hacer hummus, baba ganush, ensalada con aliña de tahini, recetas saladas o como una alternativa más saludable al aceite.

Made a big batch of these seeded crackers yesterday for my sister @jennifer.is.my.name as she likes to have them for breakfast with homemade jams or chutneys. For me, these seeded crackers are awesome with yogurt and homemade low carb jams. I just break them into small pieces so they become low carb granolas. These seeded crackers are great for snacking too. Super crunchy and super easy to make with just a bowl and spatula.

INGREDIENTS 
1/3 cup ground flaxseed
1/3 cup each of pumpkin, sunflower, chia, sesame seeds (white & black) & chopped walnuts 
1 tbsp ground psyllium husks 
1/2 to 1 tsp salt
Low carb sweetener to taste (optional)
4 tbsp olive oil
1 cup boiling water

DIRECTIONS 
1. Mix together all the dry ingredients in a bowl with a spatula, then mix in the oil and lastly, the hot water.  It may look runny initially but let it rest for 1 to 2 minutes and it will thicken up
2. Spread thinly on a baking tray with parchment paper.
3. Bake on lower section of oven at 170 C or 350 F for about 30 to 40  mins. After about 10 minutes in the oven, remove and score them into squares with a pizza cutter.  Return to oven and continue baking. Once they start to brown a bit, turn off heat and leave in oven to dry for about 15 mins. The crackers will continue to brown.
4. Score lightly again with the pizza cutter to break them up nicely. Let cool and store in air tight container.

mix a cup of TAHINI, 1/4 c of melted COCONUT OIL, 2 tbps of MAPLE SYRUP, 1/2 tsp of VANILLA EXTRACT, 1 tsp ground FENNEL SEEDS and a 1/4 c of SESAME SEEDS well. pour it all in a parchment lined baking dish and freeze for 30 mins. cut it into squares and store in the freezer. .

while SESAME SEEDS can be a little warm, its so good for skin issues that typically come out in summer. the cool COCONUT OIL, MAPLE, FENNEL should sufficiently antidote the heat as long as you don’t eat it all in one sitting! .

I just made a brilliant discovery. While my blender is far from high powered, my food processor will make nice cream! You just have to be patient. First it sounds like it won't blend at all, then it becomes little bits of banana, then boom! Creamy nice cream. Redundant, but true and delicious.

In this one I put 2 frozen bananas and lots of peanut butter. Probably about 4 tablespoons, topped with cacao nibs and this sweetened toasted sesame seed blend I was given. I ate it with a tiny spoon just because.
