So Expensive Nothing TO See Actually. #sentosa
Historically known as Pulau Blakang Mati, which translates to "island behind death"...
Was turned into a prisoner-of-war camp during WW2. The beach was a massacre site 🙀 (Punggol beach also)
Then became a military base after the war.
Esso turned the place into an oil refinery island, but moved to Jurong after an economic advisor convinced then PM LKY that the island would be better suited for tourism and recreation.
In 1970,it was renamed Sentosa, which translates to "tranquility" after some contest to give the island a name.
Fast forward to the 1983 cable car accident, the number of tourist dwindled even after emphasis on maintenance works on the cable cars.
That's why more and more attractions are installed in Sentosa.
Up to this day, I still don't understand the huha of paying xx to lepak at the fakey beaches. (My brother and his wife jio us la so I didn't pay for the cable car ride 😛)
Punggol/Pasir Ris beach, we will see you soon 🚲👦🏻 maybe Changi too. #fieldtripsingapore
The cure for anything is salt water- sweat, tears or the sea. A day at the beach is enough to restore my soul, I mean c’mon just look at that beaming glow on my face, I look happy, I genuinely felt happy in the presence of the girls ♥♥♥
Also because I’m a proud owner of two babies from @sorakini! Material is so damn soft but quality is on point. Designs are simple yet alluring ;) #sorakini#sorakinibabes#sorababes#Sentosa#tbc#tanjongbeachclub#tanjongbeach#singapore
