4 years of choir is finally coming to an end this year and it’s happy and sad. I’m glad to be apart of such a great thing for my whole high school career and I’ve learned so much and have had such great memories, but sad to leave this family. This weekend just added more to those amazing memories and I’m so grateful. #senioryear#campmagruder
Singing and getting ready along the mirrors, playing Paranoia on bus rides, hoping that everyone will remember 1, 8 in Victory Line, dancing in the stands along with the band, praying our half time routine goes okay, & pretending we know the words to the alma mater is all over. Glad I got to experience this with y’all. I love you guys ❤️❤️ #senioryear
Had the privilege of taking my incredible baby sister’s senior photos and I could not be more proud. Love you @rachelc0x 💕 Thank you @ferrahofficial & @london.crews for contributing to this & @penny.mag for publishing it.
I would NEVER want my little Jaide to be biased by my opinion ❤️ of @lsu... 💜💛😜 I’m just proud that it’s on her list!!! Plus I got to see the bestie & hubs along the way #LSUBound 🙏🏾 #SeniorYear#CollegeTours ☺️🐯
In the spirit of Thanksgiving I am going to share one of my best secrets 😘
Do you have a teenager that loves learning and has questions about what college is like?
Do you fantasize about them going somewhere like MIT; Harvard ; Yale; Columbia; Princeton or U of Chicago?
What if I told you that I can make both of your wishes come true, and all for about $ 50 for a weekend’s worth of classes?? Yep, it’s true my dears! 🧞♀️ All of the above schools participate in the wonderful Splash and Spark programs. These incredible programs are a win/win. They allow college students (both undergraduate & graduate) the opportunity to teach and get experience for either graduate school or work. The student teachers create and then teach each class. Business and IT students run the back office and day of organization and the website.
Depending on the university offering the program, there are single day programs; weekend programs; a series of weekend programs and even summer programs and mentorship programs. There are programs for junior high students only; high school students only; or junior high and high school students.
Most all of the programs are open to all and are on a first-come-first in basis while others are so popular that they are on a lottery system and a few summer mentorship programs require applications and are more competitive.
My girls have been enjoying these programs for three years. College is no longer abstract concept for them and they feel confident navigating a university campus and attending classes from building to building.
If you are interested in any school’s offerings, then please Google the school name and then Spalsh and/ or Spark
