Today’s mood. -
If you are looking for a cover to your back seat, check out @4knines
I was skeptical (as I always am) but they looked really nice so I was willing to give it a try. The material feels thick and durable. What’s even more important for me is coverage. The back of the truck is so large that a lot of covers just well don’t cover, this one did!
Even with kennels in the back I still put a seat cover down to catch and collect any dog hair, dirt, or water/mud/drinks.
With a combined total of 1,628 days in a shelter, long-stayers Cybil and Jonty have finally left the building! These golden oldies' wish for a home has come just in time for Christmas! They'll be going together to a life of walks on the beach and relaxing at home. A dedicated TEARS volunteer has opened her home to these very special dogs. •
Jonty's start to life is a bit of a mystery. He was found riding the Southern line train in Simon's Town. It is believed that he followed his owner onto the train and was then abandoned there. He came to us with only three legs but it's never slowed him down.
Cybil literally walked to TEARS on her own! She was found in a scuff with another dog at the property next to our cattery. She's had some seriously bumps in the road along the road, including being bitten by a puffadder while on an outing! She's recovered like a true star proving that literally nothing will get in her way!
Adopted as part of our Special Needs Adoption Programme (SNAP), they will be given continued support from TEARS. Learn more about adopting a senior dog or cat at: https://tears.org.za/snap-programme/
It is with tears in our eyes that we say goodbye to Cybil and Jonty but with glowing warm hearts that we see them go.
🌈 Chili, 17 years old, of @chilidognyc. It is with a heavy heart to share that our dear friend Chili crossed the 🌈 Bridge tonight. Chili, rescued from a hoarding situation, was an IVDD Warrior, cover model for @susiesseniordogs’ book, winner of many dachshund pageants and a true inspiration to all who knew him. We are sending so much love and light to his mom and dad and his bulldog sister Kirby. Chili - we know you were met at the 🌈 Bridge by your senior gal pals Coco, Roxie and Abbie as well as your sister Pigeon who you will finally get to meet. We love you Chili. Run free, sweet boy. It’s not goodbye it’s see you later. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Introducing... Sir Edward II (right). He was almost euthanized due to his senior status, but we made sure to get to him in time. Sir Edward II was found as a 14yo stray, tail-less, anemic, and in overall poor shape. He has so much love left to give and will be living out the remainder of his royal life in a Forever Foster - a life full of love, classy bow ties, foster kitten friends, and a kitchen island to rule over.
Age is just a number - stop making it a death sentence.
Frankie doesn’t know Sadie… Yet… But we hear from some of our other IG friends that she’s having one heck of a unicorn party for her 12th birthday and Frankie wants to crash it! Happy Birthday sweet Sadie! Have unicorn hoodie-will crash unicorn parties! #sadiesunicornpawty#seniorpetsofig#seniordogsneedlovetoo
The pyr paw is strong with this one 😂
TGPR foster Sebastian is looking for love and can't wait to have his very own family to snuggle with and guard. This senior is the sweetest, most wonderful guy around!

Love for all the senior pets out there!💛💛
#Repost from @nutter And @vetcbd ——————- My dude, still going strong. A little over a year ago I was told he maybe had 3-6 months to live unless he went through some gnarly invasive and expensive surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his mouth along with his entire lower jaw. I didn’t want him to have to go through that to have a poor quality of life for what time he has left. Instead, we turned to CBD treatment from @vetcbd and changed his diet entirely. A year later and he’s still the same lazy doggo with an even Bieber appetite than he was before. #theraffavist

So, I returned home very late last night after being away for two days and my husband said the Father was quite hoarse. He is not exhibiting other symptoms and is eating the same, read: voraciously. We had a cold snap here and the weather was obviously more frigid and the air was drier. I left Sunday night and the cold snap started Monday morning. My husband noticed the issue Tuesday at lunch. I’m trying to anticipate Father’s every move so that he doesn’t have screeching fits. I’m hoping this is just a reaction to the drier air. I DO notice he is a bit wheezy and gurgly, which happens when he has allergies. I’m going to “steam” him with eucalyptus oil and do the cupping on his lungs to see if I can get him to expectorate. I’m also going to try some natural remedies. As you can tell from this vid clip, his Fit screeches are a bit different. I’m not crazily concerned yet but if he’s not back to normal tomorrow, I’ll prob take him to the vet. I’m really hoping Dad forgot to hold the water bowl under him (he drinks water but other times won’t, and I hold the bowl for him several times a day and then he drinks a lot more), combined with the cold snap is what’s causing the issue!
Our valiant protector came downstairs barking 20 minutes after I lugged in all of the groceries this morning. 😳
He's really showing his age lately and it's just breaking our hearts. Grateful that he's still by my side the moment I pull out the vegetable peeler and cutting board. 🥕🥔🍄🥒🌽 #carrotsarehisfavorite
