Sweating is a very important part of my self practice. I discourage the use of AC and fan in my classes (most of you know this 😋)
Sweating and warming of the body is very essential and it makes the practice more efficient. .
This multi-purpose towel that I'm using here is a perfect addition to such practices. Especially because it's light, portable and grippy. All I have to do is, just throw it on a basic mat and I'm good to go. It definitely is going to move along with me when I travel. Days when I cannot carry my anti-slip mat, this is just ideal.

無論係教學上或練習上,呢個式子最難就係將上面隻腳伸展到身上去上方。要去到呢個程度係需要相當既柔軟度同平衡,好多時都會出現將個臀部突出或隻腳舉得唔夠高。如果我有時好勊或腳筋不在狀態,都會一樣無可能去到甘高。牆係呢到絕對係好幫手,因為我地可以挨少少埋場就唔駛驚平衡唔到,只要專心係柔軟度就可以啦。理想地下面隻手同腳應該成一直線,但如果當你伸展上面隻腳上天時平衡唔到,可以自行調教一下,然後到慢慢平衡到時再去返直線。利用牆做一個助攻幫臀部升得高啲,收緊側身肌肉,用力推個地下,然後再將所有力量聚係上面腳踭再用力推上天。如果你可以有呢種感受,好容易將雙腳伸展。記得千期一定唔好曲手肘,仲有永遠都保持臀部係高位,但有時顧慮太多可能會忽略左,所以要不斷重複練習啦!加油!

Life lessons I got from doing yoga 🧘‍♀️ 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♀️ Lately I have been including a lot of yoga into my training routine, and I am absolutely loving it. 
When I first started out I did struggle quite a lot. I was forcing all the poses, always trying to pus harder, go further, and trying to be better than the person next to me (see still trying to get over my comparison problem). But when I learnt the fundamental lessons, not only did my yoga improve but I also realised how important they were to apply to our every day life. 💋💋💋 Lessons 💜 ✅ You don’t have to push it to the limit every single time ✅ Sometimes by backing off you will achieve more
✅ When it feels effortless and you feel like you are dancing you know you are doing it right ✅ If your head is doing, you are trying hard, but going no where, it’s best to look up and see what the teacher is trying to tell you
✅ It doesn’t matter what the person next to you is doing, just do your own best.
✅ LET GO
✅ focus on your BREATH ✅ If you spend too long in pigeon pose your whole leg will go numb (not a life lesson, but something iv definitely learnt 😂) ✨✨✨

Getting over my #pincha fear whenever I get to the final inversion in my self practice. As a teacher, I try to practise what I preach.
I encourage students not to go for the inversion they know they can do when the option to go upside down comes round in class. This means we never work through the fear. We keep going to the same place, revisiting, feeling safe but not making any progress. We must practise the ones we find hardest. 😊

💦Today I remembered how we learned to dive when we had swimming lessons at school. The teacher told us to stand on the diving board and bend forward, trying to touch the water with the finger tips. And *splash* one after the other slided/fall into the pool. 💦🏊🌊🤣😂🤣

I am not a mechanism, an assembly of various sections. 
And it is not because the mechanism is working wrongly, that I am ill.

Yoga can be used as a tool to help you dig to the depths of your wounds in order to rip them out at the roots. We can trim around the edges, cut off from the top, let them out grow themselves or go to the root of the problem. Ashtanga yoga is a direct method to get you there. There is no dancing around the issue, you are forced to do postures you do not like daily. You can’t choose to skip a posture because it doesn’t feel good that day; this is how you grow, because the postures you avoid are the ones you need the most. Through the practice of asanas we target the most superficial layer of the body first, the muscles and then alignment begins to happen naturally. You can stay on the surface of things and only practice for the physical aspect or you can take things deeper and begin to connect with the inner Self. Taking your dristhi’s (focal points) in to use and using them to help you connect internally. Through breath, asana, and dristhi, withdrawal of the senses can be achieved and one can reach self realization. We come to realize that we enter into this world with impressions on our souls from previous lives. The wounds run much deeper than what you’ve experienced here on Earth in this lifetime. The inner workings of your soul are calling to you. Will you answer the call? I sure hope you do! 🙏🏼

I’ve noticed more spontaneous magic the more I devote to quiet prayer and truly feel the love and gratitude before my feet touch the ground each day. Day 5 of #AugustMudras is yogi’s choice so I went for #sirsasana with #buddhimudra ☺️ This mudra is used for mental clarity and you perform this gesture when you need to understand intuitive messages from your subconscious. Super proud of myself for not using the wall or any sort of support for this one handed headstand! It’s definitely not easy to balance like this hahah. This challenge was super fun and cool and I’m so glad I know more about these mudras! Thank you so much to the beautiful hosts & everyone who participated
