It's that time of the week...time for another #pigsplushieyoga!
Keeping with the theme of plank, Pig wanted to show you all how to do side plank today.
First come into your plank pose. (If you missed last week's post, go check it out so you can see how to do plank.)
Then, start to shift your weight over to one hand.
Let your feet fall to their sides. You can put one on top of the other or one in front of the other like Pig is doing.
Then, push yourself over to the side and bring your opposite hand either to your side or you can hold it straight up in the air.

Be sure to listen to all your fluff and do what feels comfortable. Pig likes to lay his bottom leg down so he doesn't strain his hoof too much.

Last year for a few months I focused on developing Power and control in my feet. Seemingly small detail, but not when you realize your whole body balances on your feet. If your feet are imbalanced and underperform, your whole body will work unnecessarily harder to make things happen. Slow down, focus on developing control power and flexibility, which btw is not as hard as other parts of the body, and you'll notice pretty quickly how your balance and overall practice improves. 💃💃

They say that if you want to excel, surround yourself with successful people, and thats exactly why. Why do we shower 🚿 before our practice?

🧘‍♀️Hygiene and yoga 🧘‍♀️ .
Within yogan we  say that we come to the yoga mat clean. It's because you're going to be clean when you start your practice , so the sweat that comes out is cleaner. 
The sweat contains beneficial minerals and salts that are beneficial to the skin. That is one good reason for showering before and not after. But also when we are together, air and smell will improve in the yoga hall, if everyone is clean from the beginning.

Perfumery:
No strong perfumes on during exercise.
There are many that are fragrance sensitive

Side note. This pose might not look like much and if you were blessed with your anatomy, you might be able to do this without ever having practiced yoga in your life. Took me nearly four years of practice, of which the last two years pretty consistent, to get here, though. When I started yoga, and then ashtanga, my hips were so tight that I blew out my knee trying to force myself into lotus because that’s what I saw in pictures and that’s what I wanted to do even though I was nowhere near ready. Then I spent three years working around that injury, dealing with its aftermath, and finally using it to understand my body and use the right techniques to get there. Still working diligently on it every single day because strength and flexibility don’t just show up. They look pretty in pictures, but those don’t show the hours of undocumented, personal work that go into them. If you want that, that pretty picture, whatever that is to you, man you’ve gotta be willing to put the work in.

It also aligns your spine and elongate your back leg muscles. Downward facing dog helps to unify your body and spirit by aligning your chakras while simultaneously keeping you connected to the outside world. I started house sitting for the most magnificent home. It doesn’t have the fancy hot tub and huge flat screen TV etc, however, this home is filled with flowers, plants, love, and grace.
