What does family or team mean to you? After an injury in his last fight, and seeing big Joe knock his knee out of the socket in sparring tonight, Zach stepped in w a broken hand to give his training partner the work (and support) he needed. This team is jelling. Coming together in shared purpose and it is great to see it. Whatever you think you can accomplish alone, multiply that by a hundred fold. You can be the most talented martial artist. Have a knowledgeable coach w ring & cage experience who really cares. None of it will prepare you or push you as having great training partners!
as an artist, i do not always enjoy the questions, ‘what were you thinking when you wrote this. what was the inspiration behind this.’ these questions imply that there is always thought involved in creation. for me it is the exact opposite. creativity is the act of experiencing the unconscious in the conscious. sometimes, i want to say, without sarcasm, ‘i do not know what my soul was thinking when i wrote that poem, i was too busy listening. - @nayyirah.waheed #love#improv
What would I be to hold this decision against you? Selfish.
Who would I be hurting if I held a grudge? Myself and Everyone around me.
What's more important than my needs? A Father and his relationship with his children.
It's not about me; it's not about you; it's about them.
I Love you, bro. Make it count.
I really understand the challenge in finding balance.
And I can tell you first hand, working towards your goals and not having fun will not give you the results you are looking for ⚡️⚡️
I saw my pain doctor today and it made me want to talk about exceptional doctors making for hopeful patients. I had a pain doctor before this one and he was not only useless, he was downright cruel. The pain was so bad (only a couple months after my most invasive spine surgery—see the photo) even on pain meds, but he wanted to get me off them altogether because I “don’t have cancer.” 😡
I left every appt angry and crying because the pain was so bad and having a (jerk) doctor who was totally unwilling to work with me left me depressed and hopeless in a way I’ve never felt on that scale. I truly felt like I’d be so much happier not here on Earth because if I had to live in this pain forever, I wanted out immediately. He also was basing his care off of an MRI which is useless when you have hardware in your spine because you can’t see stuff properly, so he didn’t even know what he was doing. I ended up finding my current pain doctor and he has given me so much hope, never pushed me to do something I wasn’t comfortable with and enjoys the challenge of my medical care (he told me this 😆). Not to mention how incredibly compassionate, caring, and funny he is.
All of this to say, if you have a doctor who treats you like crap, find another one! I’m so so happy I did.
My health will always be my first priority 🌻
As someone who has taken antidepressants starting at 16 years old and given no guidance on how to ever get off of them 🤕
I have become passionate about living a holistic lifestyle and refuse to ever let medication be my first option to fix my problems
Frustrated with why I felt the way I did and having a deep desire to get off the pills I decided to major in Nutrition and started doing Bikram yoga 🌿
For the first time I felt like I was putting the pieces of my spirit back together again 🌞
After 4 long years of trying to heal myself I officially stopped taking the antidepressants
I will always battle with the shit in my mind trying to keep me from being whole but I can tell you I am a totally different person today then I was then thanks to making my health a priority
Today I am a vegan and jumprope everyday 👟
I am a huge advocate for jumping rope and yoga first thing in the morning because it’s an instant mood booster 🌿
Please feel free to message me for any advice or just an ear to listen. I feel like I’ve lived a thousand lives and now my hope is to help people who might be feeling like that 16 year old girl 🌻

Social Impact is a core pillar of our sabbatical experience. We’re humbled and beyond excited to officially announce our trip to Rincon in Puerto Rico from October 18-22. Despite media reports, many pockets of Puerto Rico (especially mountain towns) still have ways to go when it comes to recovery from the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. We’re traveling to aid local Puerto Rican communities near Rincon and to bring some much needed resources to the area.
Like traveling with a purpose? Us too! We’ll be partnering with an incredible non-profit called Stronger Than to help with infrastructure projects (schools, community centers, houses) for the Puerto Rican communities that still need assistance.
If the social impact opportunity wasn’t the best part already, we’re grateful to be partnering with the incredible @erin_rose_ward for the second time who will be bringing yoga, breath work, and meditation to drive the wellness component of the experience.
Join us for a powerful and incredible experience to recharge, give back to a community in need, and create a tangible plan of action to help you grow in your career and as a leader in the workplace. 5 days is all you need.
Since our DNA and brain is always changing, I don't really believe in reading DNA and then giving judgements like:
You are going to be a criminal, drug addict or u gonna die from this and that disease at this and that year.
DNA research is great, but if our connection to others is bad, connection to nature is bad.....
Then anybody is very likely to fall into traps. Stay safe 😉
#mikeomotosho - Community service is a core value any leader or aspiring leader must possess. It is an experiential way of acquiring service learning which is critical to excelling in public service.
Unlike other climes where volunteering and community involvement are systemically imbibed in their value system, our society must learn and weave this social skill into everyday living
Public service is an enormous responsibility and should not be handled with kid’s glove. It is a service that requires mentoring and personal development. In other words it is a leadership position where community service should be a crucial prerequisite.
This is because Community Service is beneficial for personal development and growth, it also increases awareness and interest in social justice and equity and promotes a system of accountability and constituency participation that is expedient for good governance
Therefore, my challenge to aspiring leaders today is to chronicle their community impact and to voters ...How committed is your candidate to your community?
