SSH // I don't think there's a time during the last two weeks when I've had a jot of time to myself, nor has @domhardy_, and as introverts, that's kinda become a problem because we find ourselves emotionally, mentally and physically depleted.
We're tagteaming today; an hour for me, an hour for Dom, rinse and repeat. And, oh my, it feels so darned lovely to dive into the quiet, just for a spell, to recharge ready for the week ahead.
No Lady we didn't spell #FOMO wrong. And it's Okay if you don't know what this meme means, because it's a whole new movement in self-care.
Introducing the JOY. OF. MISSING. OUT.
Stay home and eat ice cream in your undies instead of go out for dinner. Don't answer the eleventy billion texts if you're too tired. We're here to tell you it's fine to say "You know what? I don't wanna". In fact, sometimes it's crucial.
Self-care can be simply knowing when you need to say "no" and having the wherewithal to DO IT.

Ooooh how clinical. Foot care is one of my measures about how well I am looking after myself. If I get a cracked heel it’s time to slow down. When I was pregnant my feet were all dry and I just felt gross when I looked at them. I bought a foot file and vowed that in the future I would have nice feet. I think it’s probably a bit of an impossibility as I like to walk my tender Scottish feet on the dry Australian terrain bare. But I try. Soaking my feet then giving myself a Reflexology treatment is the supreme treat. So perfect for 42 days of self care. Warm water with some Epsom salts, which as a magnesium salt are great externally as they help muscles to let go, to relax. Great for the postpartum. I also added a few drops of peppermint essential oil which is lovely and refreshing, but for new mums or pregnant ladies it’s not a great oil for babies so I would use nothing or maybe some lavender. And get your Reflexology from a professional. I also added half a cup of Kombucha vinegar! I’m not totally sure why this would be good but I saw it in a big book a Kombucha recipes that I am currently borrowing from the library. Sounded unusual and made me feel like I was creating a supreme potion for healing! #selfcare#selfcaresunday#42daysofselfcare#postpartum#postnataldoula#footcare#reflexology#selfcarematters#postnatal#kombucha#kombuchafootsoak#healingpotions

Take yourself for a walk, go to a movie alone, eat a great meal by yourself, build a company solo... if you can’t find those like minded people yet don’t stress. Be the best friend you need right now. It is too much pressure to expect that one person will meet all of your friendships needs - focus on you and doing what you love. Enjoy the people you meet along the journey and cherish the friends you make, without stressing about finding the one best friend (cause it’s you). .

WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS NOT HUMAN DOINGS.
Wise words from my yoga instructor this morning.
Many of us have lost the ability to just BE. We feel the need to always be DOING, and feel guilty if we spend a day not achieving something.
It's so important to take time out to just rest, relax, restore and BE. Give yourself permission to rest.
Hard to actually put into practise when your to-do list is out of control 🙈 but even a small break can make a huge difference to your stress levels. Try stepping away from the reports and out into the sunshine for a little while ☀️ Your mind will thank you! 💕 📷 @stacieswift 💗
What a funny word clutter is, the more you look at it the less real it seems. It’s a shame that method doesn’t apply to my house. You may have noticed I have skipped a few days, sick kids and sleep deprivation have been the surface cause but really it’s been deep resistance to change. I wasn’t going to do much extra tidying as part of my 42 days of Self Care it seemed too much like chores but really I have to face the clutter. (Thanks @blissfulmothers for the inspiration). Clutter is how I procrastinate and it makes more work for me in the long run. Plus I am a hoarder, not in a fearful way of not having enough, rather it just seems awful that I might send something to landfill one day then realise I need it a few days later and have to buy a new one. But this just creates clutter, stagnant projects, clutter begets clutter. I can always tell that I am making ground in my self development when all of a sudden everywhere is covered in clutter, it’s like protective fat on my stomach when I am in scary territory. When I am doing something creative that is hard, all of a sudden there are clothes and papers all over my desk, what a great place for the children’s toys. Every time! And then it affects my mind and I lose direction or I am just forever tidying up that I get no work done. So I say begone foul fiend, these next weeks are going to be about letting go and giving myself a break. Clutter I don’t need you anymore, thank you for your protection but it’s time to move forwards, it’s going to be okay! For mums to be, let de cluttering be an essential part of nesting, clear out old energy and make way for the new. #42daysofselfcare#babyproofing#day10#postnatalpreparation#clearingclutter#movingforwards#postnataldoula#selfcare#selfcarematters #
