While it can feel like you are leaving all of the comforts of home behind to head out into nature, it can connect you to the world around you in an amazing way.⠀
I will say that I enjoy the comfort of my king size bed and a hot shower, but getting outside and away from these luxuries is really what makes them extra luxurious.⠀
It gives me strength to know what I can go out and conquer tough trails, take in breathtaking views or summit mountains all while living simplicitically out of a backpack.⠀
Do you enjoy backcountry hiking & camping or do you prefer to stay closer to the luxuries of home?
😌 How to enjoy life more.
I love this photo for several reasons:
1. It was taken during my husband's birthday trip.
2. I love nature pics and rain on windows.
3. But MOST importantly it was a time when we were reminded of the importance of the power of pause.
We had driven up a large hill to see a view and as you can see, we couldn't see a lot.
We could have gotten annoyed and felt hard done by because it wasn't what we came for and left. (But that's not how we choose to live our lives.) We stopped, we sat, we had a drink and we waited.
We believed that the mist would clear and it did. We got to watch the magic of mist rolling over the mountains and the slow majestic reveal of the view.
And yeah, the view in the end wasn't the most amazing I've ever seen, but we actually got to see more of a show because of the weather.
Next time something isn't going to plan, try a little more positivity or a little patience.
Your mind and health will thank you for it. And you'll begin to enjoy life more as you see the beauty in more things.
