My favorite gift in the whole wide world was given to me nine years ago. And on every birthday it amazes me how beautiful my little girl has grown.
Don’t you get teary eyed when another year has gone by? It’s bittersweet.
Double tap ❤️ if you wish these kiddos stay small for a little while longer and/or agree this panda party is a kids DREAM! 💫 oh and the cake was delish 😋 thank you @wannacupcake !
#fbf here cuz...well, life🤷♀️ Lots to report but we'll save that for another day! For now though I'm excited to spend the weekend with three of my favorite ladies❤ @bubblerun5k Saturday morning, followed by @brooklynchaseee bday celebration [part deux] and of course...what weekend is complete without a little totally-unnecessary-and-maybe-guilt-worthy shopping @bohochicboutique2017 🛍😂?!
A little #flashbackfriday to last Thursday when I thought I was recovered enough to meet up with @snapsbytanya (for the first time in person!) and listen to @ginamurphybc talk. If I’m honest, I still get hung up on what other people think. Do they think I’m that girl? Do they laugh at my business behind my back? But sitting in that room, and watching through the eyes of someone who has nothing to do with the business side of Beautycounter, all I felt was proud. Proud that Gina spoke for twenty minutes about ways to reduce our families’ exposure to environmental toxins before she said a word about Beautycounter. Proud when she shared how we recently celebrated our 5th anniversary - with 100 meetings on Capitol Hill and another 250 at home offices if Congress members across the country and in Canadian provinces. Proud when she talked about how @greggrenrew brought together our “competitors” to create the Counter Coalition, so that when one CEO has a meeting or writes an oped piece, she is not just representing one company, but 20+. That’s how we become a force, and that’s how we change and industry. There are always going to be people who ignore all of this or discount what we do simply because one part of the company runs on a direct sales model. But the reason it was 1000x worth it to me to go and end up back in bed for three more days is that I finally don’t care. I’m busy changing the world, one text for #betterbeauty , one meeting with my senator, and one safer product at a time. #bethtalksdirectsales
I like to say hi on here every once in a while! 👋🏻 I’m Lyndsey. I have three boys (ages 8, 5 & 1) and an awesome husband who I don’t post much about here (it is a boyMOM account, after all 😜) and we live just outside of Seattle. I grew up in SoCal and have some pretty heavy California pride 🌴☀️ but WA is home to me now. I love talking about social media, Disneyland, books, and parenting so you’ll see a lot of those topics pop up here. 😄
My main goal with this account is to share quick & easy ideas to help every mom be a little more intentional about parenting. Some are definitely more boy-focused 💙, since I think we boymoms have some specific challenges in our quest to raise strong, honorable men — and because let’s face it, only fellow boymoms understand the noise and activity levels and weapon-basket scenarios involved in raising boys 😜 — but I really do hope this will be a place of encouragement & inspiration for you no matter who you’re parenting. 🙌🏼 I also love to feature other moms in the #boymomspotlight series, because I think there’s so much we can learn from each other. Please always feel free to share your own ideas here via comments, DMs, or emails! .
ANYWAY. I love hearing from you guys too. Tell me — where are you from & how many kids do you have??
‘Better than a thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher.’ - Japanese Proverb. @ayoung102 While it may be sad to see your little one heading off to kindergarten, know that she’ll always be coming home to the best teacher - you. Thanks for teaching her to love words at such a young age through word searches, it’s something that we love to see in our community. #seattlemom#languages
Thank you Olga @exploreyourbliss for sharing our story and supporting our women artisans! Wishing you and Alex a beautiful summer full of light and joy! .
"Summer is such an active time of year that I truly cherish the few moments when we can be still and just enjoy. Like that evening, when Alex and I were coloring the doodle candle by @prosperitycandle.
Each candle is individually hand poured-to-order by a woman artisan who is a former refugee building a new life for herself and her family in the United States. Being an immigrant myself, I just adore this mission and the impact every candle has!
But that’s not all: @prosperitycandle
is committed to being environmentally sustainable, is a member of WFTO, and provides equal opportunity for women.
Amazing what a pretty little candle can do 💕"
Some days call for a trip the library followed by early dinner at Chipotle with our stack of books. I don’t consider not cooking a failure anymore. I consider anticipating what we all need on any given day (today it was getting out of the house because I know I am tired and short in patience) a win. Off to the Farmers Market for dessert! And probably buying myself some flowers.
I have loved every minute of teaching her at home but in a few weeks she is off to Kindergarten. It’s a choice I still struggle with. This year it’s best if she learns how to follow rules and cooperate without my intervention. I’m guessing I will be the one in tears on her first day.
Some days you feel like you will collapse from exhaustion 😩 or all you want is to lay down and close your eyes for just a fewwww minutes 😴
Physically and mentally exhausted there are times when your kids push you to limits you didn’t think you could go. To that tipping point. But then we get through it. We SURVIVE. And that’s mom STRENGTH. •
Having our limits TESTED in a daily basis and we are still here. Now that’s BADASS. •
Welcoming ALL mamas to join our fit tribe! We are all in this together so why not make it official and join our health and fitness accountability group?! We start Monday! DM, comment below or click link in bio for deets and to snag your spot💋
This guy 😍We’ve been able to work on a dream to allow for freedom with time and income. I work where we have Wi-Fi and around the family schedule. He knew I would go nuts only being “mom” so encouraged me when the kids were little to double down on my strengths. Those being, encouraging women to feel amazing in their skin and believing they can provide for their families while still being mom first. With part-time hrs, anything can happen. So many of my friends don’t ever have to return to “corporate life” because they created a new path. A freedom path. I always planned on staying home with the kids but quickly realized how badly I needed an outlet. I needed a space to grow, a community, to stay creative and also be committed to my health 💫📚👩🏼💻💪🏻It all helps with my anxiety, too! If you want to learn more about what I do and how it can work for your family, message me. You can be a fly on the wall in our private group we’re hosting📲💻
Taking a moment to really ‘see’ today’s painting, “Wheatfield with Crows.” Our feeling is, (contrary to many historians), this masterpiece painted in the last two weeks of Van Gogh’s life, is optimistic and full of life and vitality. (Which plays into the newer theory that he did not end his own life). #youngarthistorians#kidsloveart#vangoghweek#artsed#artseducation

Sometimes letting go to make room and space means letting go of things that are really really good. Like really good. Last night I emailed @jessiemundell that I wouldn’t be renewing my #topregnancyandbeyond membership after two years. And then I cried. Like big, ugly tears sitting in my kitchen alone, way past my bedtime. I think I’m still puffy. And that’s a picture of me right this very second, biting my lip in Starbucks to keep the tears pooling in my eyes from falling. This group of women, many of whom are close friends now, are such a huge part of why my postpartum experience the second time around was (mostly) full of joy and gratitude, not stress and anxiety. They got me through the last months of being hugely pregnant while also toddlering, when I didn’t think I’d make it. We have virtually laughed, cried, and every other emotion you run during pregnancy… and beyond. Not just the “yeah, I’m doing fine” emotions. But also the “no, I’m not doing okay and I need help” ones. If you want a damn good postnatal fitness plan, check it out. But if you want a group of women who will support you at three in the morning when you question if you can do any more momming or who will have the most civilized and supportive conversations every about breastfeeding and sleep training and every other topic or who will offer zero judgements when you talk about how you really feel about your toddler on a hard day, run faster to check it out. They are gold. And I will miss them like crazy.
