🍎 There are teachers who we always remember! Who do you remember?
Your #faveteacher is the teacher you thought of immediately after you read my sentence. 😆

@inkinnovators. They have set a #12daysofchristmas challenge and are teaming up with Nicole @penguintalks29, challenging us to write a #letter to someone we are no longer in touch with, or an ex, or someone who has passed on.
I’d really love Mrs Maguines to read my letter, so if you happen to know a teacher named Karen Maguines who taught at #rydeeastpublicschool - please pass on this letter to her for me!! 🥰
Dear Mrs Maguines,
I remember you.
Being beautiful and kind to everyone in our class, giving table ticks and being friendly, yet having a definite Teacher Boundary.
I remember you.
Helping me patiently when I didn’t understand my work.
I remember you
laughing and making us kids feel safe.
I remember you.
And I just wanted to say Thank You. For being a wonderful Year Six teacher.
And I don’t know
if you remember me.
But if you do, my name is Linda Lokhee and you inspired me to become a teacher too.
I hope that in all my years of classroom teaching, I’ll have someone who will say,
‘I remember you’ too.
PS I’m a children’s book author too, so I think you’d have been thrilled to know that, seeing as you encouraged me to write creatively.
Tagging a few, open to all to write for the #inkinnovators#writingchallenge

There are a few books that must be read in ones lifetime...
Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life
Is one of these books. I encourage all of you to get a copy and read it over the holiday break.
It will teach you many powerful things including a lot about yourself!
R E A D E R ‘ S THEATRE ✨💕 Promoting reading in a different way for the last week of school 😊 What I love about reader’s theatre is that it promotes good expression in even my quietest of students! One of my quite students became the best Santa I ever saw last week, deep voice and all😍 so proud of her! These scripts are from @twinklaustralia
We are officially 2 days into the holidays, and I can’t help but prepare all my resources for my grade 3s next year! My favourite classroom item so far is the class mascot! I’m having the above picture printed on a fluffy friend, and you best believe that he’ll be actively involved with all the children’s learning throughout the year!
QOTD: do you have a class mascot? 🐻
Did you know that as far back as I can remember, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher?
I recall playing school with my brothers in the basement - they gave me some practice on how to deal with behaviours in the classroom ;) My favourite teacher of all time was Mrs. Anderson. I was new to a school (wr moved a lot as a kid) and I had been bounced back and forth between French immersion and English depending on what was available where we lived - and by Grade 5 there were some noticeable gaps - specifically in my writing. In a time, age and space where I was so vulnerable and embarrassed - Mrs. Anderson first of all listened to me - then did all she could to support my growth, spending extra time with me to bring me to where I needed to be - but most importantly made me believe in myself.
This is the best lesson she taught me and through my teaching I continue to pass that lesson on to my students. Helping others believe in themselves is so transferable though. Whether teaching swimming lessons in my teens/early twenties, or teaching those to believe in themselves and how to use simple tools to reach their fitness goals today - I am simply drawn to the act of supporting those around me and empowering with the knowledge that "they can". 😍
Who is your favourite teacher?
These small group guided reading lesson plans are a lifesaver for me! I finally have all the levels done, organized, and ready to go....it ONLY took me 2 years. They are my favorite resource in my room! What do you love in your room? #guidedreading#smallgroup#leveledlessonplans#lifesaver
I feel like a warrior today taking on the challenge of @3hofoundation #wintersolsticesadhana
For a week on tenting in the Florida sun (please pray for sun and warmth). It’s been 15 years since I’ve been to this week of yoga which includes 3 full days of meditation. I think I’m about to have my a$$ handed to me in the form of sore muscles, but I know I will be glad I did it! .

Here are some of the creations of our students from this week's workshop! Before we can actually put words on paper, we need to engage and inspire our writers to conceptualise and define their story characters.

I made a couple of New Year’s Resolutions for 2018. One of them was ‘get through a year of teaching’. This is the first resolution I have actually kept.. which makes 6 weeks of Holidays that much SWEETER 🌴🍹🌺
most of the time I’m not upside down or meditating - I’m actually a kindergarten teacher and this is me on a Friday, during lunch, drinking caffeine to survive the little people! sometimes I wonder what people are really like outside these squares. so today I’m introducing myself:
my name is Katie and I’m from NJ ✌🏼 I teach in a school by day and a yoga studio by night! most days I check in with instagram, emails, and my blog during lunch break or late at night after teaching yoga. this year has presented new challenges when it comes to balancing everything because my commute in an hour so I try to utilize that time by listening to music, my nutrition school lectures, or podcasts to stay productive. sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the hats I wear every day but then I take a moment to feel extremely grateful because I get to share & teach a variety or people (old & young) and content (reading/writing/math & yoga philosophy) all day long!
if you read this far - thanks & I hope you know that what I share on here is only a fraction of my life but I do hope it helps you on your journey 🙏🏻 now tell me something about you!
I’ve been meaning to share my fun #TBR book cart and after doing my #storycember yesterday about the book I’m reading for fun I decided to finally post about it! I got this beauty at @ikea and it was the best $30 I could’ve spent. My book collection keeps growing (thanks @bookofthemonth 😘) and this keeps me organized! Top shelf contains the books I need for read + my diffuser and second shelf has books I’ve read/need to put back in my other book shelf. I’m currently reading One Day in December and hoping to knock out the other ones come January! Reading is one of my favorite past times and I love being able to say goodnight to these books each night (jk I don’t say goodnight to them... or do I? 😏) #tbrcart#bookstagram#bookshelf#bookstoread#teacherswhoread#readlikeateacher

Being a primary school teacher at Christmas requires the energy of a thousand suns but I really love it.
My school is pretty unusual in this current climate; it gives teachers all the trust and freedom required to teach creatively. We're able to plan lessons in our own style and honestly this has such a positive effect on our students. It's all about helping to create well-rounded, happy little humans not unhappy little robots. 🤖💕 Trousers by @lovetootrue - UK manufactured indie brand.
