Reflecting on an amazing summer that has gone far to quickly!! I'm feeling mixed... emotions grateful to have had the time with them, sad its over but most importantly filled with wonder for what is to come✨. As I send my 2 boys off to school i'm giving these these words of wisdom👆🏻 Good luck to all the children starting back to school📚✏ you got this 👌🏻
While the children were busy playing cards at the amazing Airbnb we’re staying in for a last summer holidays fling, I was off having my own mini- adventure - exploring the nearby beach and scrambling over rocks to climb through a ruined building and take this photo!
There was no- one else around, so it did cross mind that I could slip and fall and no one would know! .
The views were definitely worth it though! .
Another example of how we often get the best out of life ( and business) when we add in a bit of adventure!
Hope you’ve had a fantastic weekend!
Im feeling sooooo thankful for such a wonderful, fabulous and memorable day at @Carfestevent today!
There was an amazing vibe and music, so many cars for my lads to ogle, plus free samples of gin & lager for me ... what’s not to love? #carfest2018
I so wish we had had more than 10 days left of the #schoolsummerholidays - anyone else?
496,867 - ‘Gosh I wish the school summer holidays were longer’...said no parent ever - the number above in case you are wondering, is the number of seconds left until my three children go back to school. It’s during the long, long, oh so long school summer holidays that you realise how grossly underpaid teachers 👩🏫 are. My husband even put a figure on what he would pay 💰 to send our kids back to school a week early (a small countries debt could have been paid off!) and this was after only two weeks at home with them. He seemed somewhat concerned about how I would be able to cope for another whole week on my own, whilst he drove like a bat out of hell to get to work this Monday to an early morning meeting (or so he claims!)...thank goodness we’ve moved to the USA though and they go back to school for three whole days and then get another holiday (happy labour day!) On that particular day I have every intention of being happy whilst labouring for another day...with my children! 😬 #labordayweekend#schoolsummerholidays#summerholiday#parentingtheshitoutoflife#motherhood#motherhoodunplugged#motherhoodrising#motherhoodthroughinstagram#whenwilltheholidaysend#schoolholidays
After the Diana playground we went to what we thought was a lake. Turns out it's called Round Pond and is near the playground right next to Kensington Palace. It was very tranquil and we spent ages feeding all sorts of birds and staring at the calming water. Lottie and her lil friend loved putting their toes in and playing with sticks. Aaron just wanted to throw stones in to try and make them bounce. We even chatted with a boy about the raft he'd made with his Grandma and the help of YouTube. He had attached it to a string and was sailing it up and down. Kids do have screen free time. They really do.
I find this pic of Lottie provokes a lot of thoughts in me. What ripples do your actions cause? Create some positive ones 💦🌊 shaken not stirred 💙
The Round Pond is an ornamental lake in Kensington Gardens, London, in front of Kensington Palace.
The pond was created in 1730 by George II. It is approximately seven acres (2.8 ha) in extent, measuring approximately 200 by 150 metres (660 by 490 ft). It is up to 5 metres (16 ft) deep. Despite its name, it is not circular, but rectangular with stepped and rounded corners. With a long history of popularity with model yacht enthusiasts, it is the home of the Model Yacht Sailing Association (established 1876) and the London Model Yacht Club (established 1884).
Just realised that both her dress and cossie both have flamingos on, both are @bootsminiclub
Having tried out circus skills @oxfordcastle over half term. We were invited back to try Knight School. My kids had a great time designing their own shields and learning how to fight with swords and arrows. Not only was it fun it was educational and frequently on the gory side of medieval warfare. Nothing makes a mum feel prouder than watching your timid daughter go in for the killing blow - after making sure her enemy was not worth holding to ransom. #ad
There’s a reason you shouldn’t take your kids to work with you - they drop you in it a big time. This morning my daughter came along to “help” me train two clients. All going well until the cool down when we were chatting about weaning babies and healthy sugar free snacks for babies and toddlers. My daughter decides to tell my two clients that her(not yet 2 year old) brother’s favourite snack is fizzy strawberry lace sweets 🤦♀️🤦♀️🙄🤭 Thanks kid.
He had one sweet ONCE when the girls were having them. I personally wouldn’t give him his own sweets yet BUT the girls do have them from time to time as I don’t believe in banning food (limiting is fine!) and it’s pretty hard to keep a toddler from having what his older siblings are.
Luckily, I have very cool, down to earth clients who thought it was hilarious.
The time of the school summer holidays is a stressful time for both, host parents and the AuPairs. Some of them can not bear the stress and separate. But this must not be. They only should wait a couple weeks after the holidays and - like a miracle - the stress goes away and the relation ship between AuPair and host parents can relax again. .
Our young sewers ace it again with a bunch of bedroom tidies made yesterday at one of our Kids Summer Sewing Workshops. All brilliantly made girls- well done! (I shall await reports from the Mums and Dads as to whether they actually work to keep bedrooms tidy 😁)
Next workshop is next Thursday where we’ll me making a Freddie Fish Laundry Bag. Still places available. #kidssewingclass#schoolsummerholidays
Looking for a fun family day out this summer? Head to the Weald & Downland Living Museum near Chichester, where children can explore more than 50 rescued homes, workplaces and buildings from across rural south east England in a wonderful parkland setting.
Come and watch how the watermill works, try tasters in the Tudor kitchen, see the blacksmith at work, meet traditional farm animals and enjoy the woodland playground and new activity barn!
Don’t miss out ‘Wonderful Wednesdays’ children’s activities throughout August. #thingstodo#schoolsummerholidays#activities#summerholidays#chichester#westsussex#gooutside#playoutside
