I mean is it even a vacation if there aren’t cats to snuggle 🤷🏻♀️😍Sweet Yoshi helped my cat mom heart since I’ve been missing my boys. Living on instastories this week so I can soak in every moment of this coach/soul sister/girl tribe trip 🌈👯♀️
ZERO more wake-ups!!!! (Until summer school in a week 😂) •
Today is very bittersweet for me. I am leaving my middle school and district, what I have know as home for the past 3 years, to move forward to a new district in a high school! •
I am SO happy and excited for my new adventure, especially because the high school is where my heart is. But at the same time I am very sad to leave my amazing coworkers turned best friends as well as my amazing students. •
I'm a mixed bag of emotions today, but I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and what is meant to be will be. •
Here's to new opportunities that are ahead! ✨
Success isn’t about how much money you make or what rank you hold, it’s found in doing what you LOVE and doing it well❤️
This is my intern, @adaugh01 who finished her last day at Brookline High today! Ashley came to me as a pre-prac in school psych last school year and stayed with me through her practicum year this year! She’s off to Boston Public for her third year of internship next year, and then off into the world! Ashley, thank you for letting me show you the ropes of school psychology! It was an honor watching you grow and develop your skills! The kids and staff loved you!! Brookline’s loss is Boston’s gain! You will be awesome!! I cannot wait to hear about your next adventures!! #interns#schoolpsychlife#schoolpsychologist#schoolpsychinthemaking

Today, West Virginia celebrates its 155th birthday, which is a perfect day to reflect on the educators who stood #55strong this year! Their strength is something that I and many others will remember for years to come.
8.5 hours later we are in INDY! I’m waiting on the rest of my girls to arrive and I think my heart MIGHT EXPLODE from excitement ❤️ I was laying here thinking about how much I could have missed out on if I would have listened to “advice” or “doubting comments” over these past 2 years. Things like....”What if is doesn’t work?”, “Don’t only a few people make it to the top?”, or my all time favorite “Isn’t it a pyramid scheme”? 🤣
You see -Success isn’t scarce, but it also isn’t free. You’ve gotta work your ass off to actually make money and get to the level you wanna be. I see my team touching not only my city but all over the US- one life at a time. GAH I’m SOOO PROUD of them! You see this mission it does work and we dont have our eyes on the “big shiny” things. Yeah renting a sweet air bnb downtown and paying off debt is AHMAZING , but coaching is all about impacting people. The girl power we’ve got - it’s a legit positive force🌈
25,000 people with pure hearts are embracing Indianapolis this weekend to celebrate health, community, and EACH OTHER. We are seriously about to take over the world. Yep I’m going there- were gonna help people give themselves permission to live fulfilled. All over the 🌎. (trust me, you’d make a great addition or you can keep watching wondering what would happen 🤷🏻♀️- or you can click on this link in my bio realll quick🦄🦄 #livingmybestlife
Survived my first year as a school psychologist! The 8th graders were asked to write a letter to someone who impacted them in middle school, and I just got this letter from a boy in my social-emotional class (#crying ). Being a school psych is often challenging and you wonder if you’re really making a difference, but then your sweet kiddos remind you that you are. Looking forward to year 2, but first... IT’S TIME FOR PAID SUMMER VACAY ✌🏻 #oneyeardown#schoolpsych#hellosummer
Every few weeks Channing and I have mommy-son date-day. Yesterday, we went to Adventure Landing and played putput golf (which he loved!), water bumpercarts, and then played in the arcade. Following this we had lunch at the Mellow Mushroom pizza. When we returned to the house, he climbed trees while I did some yard work. Such a good day. Time goes by too quickly. I'd never exchange my job in the schools for this reason. I can be an involved mom and a part of the workforce.
Actually taking time to stretch when your hot and tired doesn’t always happen, I’m gonna be honest with you for real. But stretching is sooo good for us especially when we are training hard. My inner tights and side body is usually the tightest after a Recovery day so I targeted those areas. Static stretching should be done POST- workout with foam rolling to follow👍🏻 Cheers to preventing injury!
It’s sizzlin out there so you make it FUNNN😜 That’s what I’m all about. If you’re gonna sweat why not have a blast doing so? Why not workout with people that will hold you accountable? Why not run through a tunnel to add some spice to your run?⚡️ Now to grill some hamburgers with the hubby and get my new ladies set up for our online bootcamp that starts up tomorrow! When people are already messaging you ready for their first workout and taking pictures of meal prep☺️💜💪🏻 Heart. Is. FULL! I mean you got like 9 hours to get in on this fun fest 🕶
Don’t make change too complicated, just begin🌈🕶 Things I used to say to myself:
- I will start next Monday - I won’t be able to enjoy my vacation if I do this -I love food and can’t commit -I can’t enjoy summer if I start a nutrition plan -My spouse will sabotage me by bringing cookies in the house -I travel for work and it’s hard to be healthy.
The excuses are endless and I used to be the one making them. But one day you’ll say enough is enough , if I want this I’ll make it happen somehow. I don’t always look forward to 5am workouts, but I always feel good after I finish them. I love food so I try out new recipes and ways to satisfy my sweet tooth. I don’t always want veggies but I snack on those first and then take a bite of a treat. 🙋🏼♀️It’s a choice peeps! We all have a choice. Start like today and if it’s not perfect so what try tomorrow..and the next day..try and try again. Trying is doing- trying is making progress. One treat meal like that pizza I had last night doesn’t mean a bad day or week. This little health-ish life of mine is like a marathon. It doesn’t happen over night but the feeling of accomplishment for overcoming the challenge is priceless. You either want to chase you dreams and goals or not ya know? I believe in you. 👙
I have accepted a position at Ionia ISD where I will be able to directly service students (plus a pretty awesome pay increase). I have spent the last 3 years at Eaton RESA, which at times have been heart breaking and at other times incredibly fulfilling. This was a difficult decision mostly because I worked with amazing people who are talented, intelligent, and passionate about education like me. So here is to some of my favorite memories/people and for taking risks 💜. #sappypost#educationlife#schoolpsychlife
Book update! Finished The Sun is Also a Star, and I didn’t even want it to end! The love between the two main characters in spite of their circumstances had me hooked early on. This books makes you think while also allowing you to feel empathy for the main characters. There is nothing better than getting lost in the world of a book, and this book allows you to do just that. Five stars, and would definitely recommend it. 📖
“They may call me insane, but I prefer to address my need for speed, sweat, and a flood of adrenaline as...driven” -🙋🏼♀️yep, I said that. Just now. Be your own crazy and never let up 😜 Ya with me?
See ya later #classof2018 You take with you some of the most hard-working, unique and resilient kids I have met. High school #schoolpsychlife isn’t always easy, but this day is one of the many reasons I love it. To be a tiny part of a big step in someone’s journey is pretty cool. As usual, I also have one of the best seats in the house for the event! #schoolpsychologist @nasponline
Cheers to surviving the school year! Cheers to the three other people at this table who are the only ones who truly understand the stress and what we go through! Enjoy summer break!!! #schoolpsychlife#schoolsout#timetorecharge
WELL I didn’t pack this bathing suit for our Mexico trip because it was too tight and I felt extremely self conscious in it. It’s one of my favorites because I love bright colors and the criss cross design! Plus Victoria Secrist doesn’t make bathing suits anymore (gasp). I was so disappointed that another summer would come and I may not wear this suit🙈
Then today..I got this bright idea to try it on. I’ve lost 3 pounds since I got back from Mexico and I’ve been taking this nutrition course with Cody ...so i figured what do I have to lose right? 🤷🏻♀️ I snapped this picture and sent it to my hubby because I AM SO EXCITED! It fits. It legit fits. I feel confident and I am ecstatic that I’ve found what works!!!! This lifestyle, this coaching thing people brush off, this community, it’s a GIFT!!!! A GIFT im never ever gonna stop telling you about. I’m sharing these pictures with you because I need you to know that their is hope for everyone’s health. You can be happy again. You can rock the shit out of a bathing suit again and feel like Beyoncé 🤩 You know where to find me 😘📥
Confession: I’m a people pleaser. Well, I’m working on it🙈But for real. Anyone else? Or maybeeee you’re the person who is so busy your head spins but like you think it’s what you have to do?
Overcommitting or being busy is def one of the most popular reasons people, including myself have used for not just giving ourselves some self care/down time to like lay in a hammock or go for a walk...or heck even just exercise and de-stress.
Its crazy how society makes us believe that if we aren’t frantically running around we aren’t “measuring up” or if we say no to something we’re gonna “miss out” or “not do enough”. My word for 2018 is INTENTION🧐
Here are some questions I ask myself when deciding if I should commit to an event, responsibility, job, etc. 💁🏼♀️ 1. How will this bring value to my life?
2. Will the time I’d spend on this positively affect my goals?
3. Would I be surrounded by people who are positive, uplifting, and have the same values?
4. What would I possibly sacrifice if I do this?
5. How will this impact others- both positive and negative?
6. Am I considering this because someone asked me or because I sought it out?
I hope this helps you in some way being more life to your days 💜 Reach out if you feel like you need someone to bounce ideas or thoughts off of.
Tonight, Jessica and I said farewell to 2 of the first and friendliest faces to welcome us to FWPS as baby psychs in 2012. Chris Willis may have been what brought me to FW but it was the relationships with amazing psychs and student support staff that have kept me. I consider myself so lucky to have worked with the two of you and I appreciate your friendship so much! Best of luck to you both on your future adventures 💞 #fwps#schoolpsychlife
