Received our electricity bill for the quarter- $250, down from $300ish last quarter. Very happy with this! We have lower electricity bills because we have gas hot water and because we negotiated a discount on our bills. We also turn everything off at the wall, have a new efficient fridge, and use our appliances efficiently (like not running the dishwasher unless it's full).
In our family, giving makes us happy. It is so important to us for our children to be givers and know the important of looking after the less fortunate in our community. In a time when we have more then ever, it’s more important than ever, to show our children that kindness, generosity and strength of character are paramount!

Christmas presents for my nieces & nephew. This year I’ve put together little individual gift boxes.
Everything is from Kmart & less than $15 spent on each child, my biggest tip is to try and get packets of items you can split up instead of purchasing everything individually.
💅🏼Nail polish set $3ea
🦄Squeezamal toy $5ea
💋Lip balm $5 (3 pack)
🌌Galaxy bath bombs $10 (4 pack)
🍬Candy jewellery & sherbet fruits $2 for both bags
🌪Beyblade $15 with a bath bomb & share of the lollies 🍬 ✨
All in a $3 gift box with sparkly shredded paper and topped with ribbon & bow 🎁 ✨
Kids don’t understand monetary value, they don’t understand the difference between a $5 pencil case and a $35 pencil case all they care about is the pencil case. Don’t go into debt or stress this Christmas. Give gifts that will delight & excite within your budget .. or below your budget 🥳
Shop local and shop ethical this Christmas! There are so many awesome small businesses to choose from - give a gift card, meet for a coffee in an independent, or buy something that will be used for years! Tag your favourite small business and share the love ❤️
Do you ever feel just overwhelmed? I’ve been so busy at work and it’s been bleeding into the fun stuff I like to do so I apologise I haven’t been posting much
Tomorrow I’m attending the #SHOMOs which I’m super excited about where I get to finally meet so many awesome fellow money bloggers 🖤 I know I’ll have a serious case of imposter syndrome when I’m there but I’m just going to go, head high and enjoy it
Then I’m super looking forward to Sunday where I’m going to sit at my desk and get my November and December in order from finances to presents and to self care
Remember, you’re amazing so take a deep breath 🖤 You got this

Today I was in the office wishing I was here 🙌
Its catch 22 right you work to live and you live to work, you need money to live the lifestyle you want BUT did you know don't have to do a job you hate to achieve that!
By discovering where you want to be you can recreate yourself.
Yes you can 💪
I have at the beginning of 2017 I embarked on creating a career 😱 before kids I never knew what I wanted I worked in Finance yet it wasn't until I headed back to finance after having kids when we were struggling with our finances and knowing we needed to make a change that I realised we couldn't be the only family going through this 👨👩👧👦 so I began my studies to be a financial planner.
A financial planner for mums like me to come to know you are understood.
It has been a journey and I will be continuously studying to stay informed but I am excited because I am proving to myself that I can do it, change is possible at any stage of life and I am excited for what 2019 will bring 🙌 WHO'S WITH ME!!!!!
For anyone near Glasgow: Itison are doing a £30 Buchanan Galleries gift card for £19 today! Valid for a year so good for either Christmas shopping or as a Christmas gift 🎁 #glasgow#buchanangalleries#shopping#deals
Another Friday night in✅
I was tempted to go out for drinks with everyone but getting close to Christmas (with alot of social events comin up😩🍷) I thought I'd just chill instead. A late arvo walk by the lake and I figured since I'm saving money on not going out, I'd buy my fave yellow curry with spinach noodles for $11. You gotta do you😗
P.s Who loves being social but hates the small talk and pressure? I'm always torn. I love being a loner but then I get cabin fever and become the life of the party for 5 seconds and then go straight back to being anxious
Another day, another #flybuys offer. My weekly flybuys spend requirement is slowly creeping up, but we normally spend around $160 to $200 a week at the supermarket anyway 😱 ...Which, I know, is an absolutely ridiculous amount for two adults and two cats. This is something I'm going to work on. .
Every Wednesday $250 transfers from our offset account to our joint spending account. This is used for groceries and any eating out. We quite often go over this amount, especially if we go out for brunch or dinner (or both!) Again, something I'm going to work on. .
I have 10 days to complete my shop for the first week of the Flybuys offer, so this week coming I'm going to do my best to shop the pantry and save some $$$. I'll let you know how I get on!! .
Who else knows they spend too much at the supermarket? ... Or am I the #onlyone ??
Been a bit quiet on here this week. Temptation is all around at the moment and I slipped and went £6 into my overdraft. It’s fine as I’ve moved some things around, but it shows just how easy it is to stop using cash envelopes and “treat yo’self” on the card at this time of year, dinner out twice this week and a a few other unnecessary treats (mainly for the kids) However I am still feeling good about my money, I’ve nipped it in the bud, I might fall down 7 times but I always stand up 8!
My oldest client, she is 80 year old this year and loves endowment policies, has 3 policies with me since year 2013.
Endowment policies help to diversify higher portfolio to lower risk portfolio and hassle-free distribution upon one's death, i.e. no Will, Grant of Probate or Letter of Administrator needed. You can avoid inherit tax too if there is one in future... #endowment#savingmoney#insurance#loveyourself#loveyourfamily
Fresh sheets & a turned down bed for tired bodies to sink into tonight. We had such a wonderful holiday and it’s so nice to be home again. I’m excited to get into a fresh routine, implement nanas cleaning tips & get refocused with our budget 💗
Many people get confused when they see their credit scores on Credit Karma verses when they see their FICO credit scores. What many don't realize, your credit scores on Credit Karma aren't FICO credit scores. Credit Karma uses the vantagescore scoring model. That doesn't mean your scores on Credit Karma are wrong, they're just calculated slightly differently. Using Credit Karma is a great way to help track the improvement of your credit scores over time. ⠀
What does this mean for you? If you're goal is to buy home, then knowing what your FICO credit scores are, is important. Most financial institutions use FICO scores to determine your credit worthiness. The best way to get your FICO score is freecreditscore.com or contacting your bank to see if they offer it for free.
