“A majority of countries attending the CMS Sharks Memorandum of Understanding (CMS Sharks MOU), at a meeting in Monaco last week, wanted to work together to conserve the blue shark. However, Australia, New Zealand, the U.S. and South Africa all spoke out against the proposal, and so the species was denied.”
Report from maritime-executive by Marex is linked on our fb page.
Whale sharks are the largest of all fish with a total length of up to 12.5m (rumours even go up to 14 or 16) and a weight of over 20 tonnes.
The juvenile male you see in this picture was about 4 metres long.
Though these sharks seem humongous they are the gentle giants of the sea and feed on plankton only 💛
Their biggest threat nowadays are human made - fishing nets and plastic pollution. Whale sharks are filter feeders, so even the smallest micro plastic particles go directly into their diet - what in the long run leads to the death of these wonderful creatures. .
Safe our oceans. .

Perhaps one of the most iconic shark species, the great white shark often gets negative media attention, with it's dangerous nature regularly exaggerated. Susceptible to being caught within beach netting this species does not have a high enough abundance anywhere in its range to withstand sustained exploitation.
Ranked at 39 on the EDGE Sharks and Rays list, an urgent change of perception of the species is needed to allow for more effective conservation. http://www.edgeofexistence.org/species/great-white-shark/

Diving off Port Elizabeth, South Africa on a very special day, the visibility was tropical like! We had huge baitballs of fish, and the most colorful reef I've ever seen! The diving in South Africa may be cold, but it's some of the best out there!! .

Imagine that moment when your at the waters surface adjusting your mask prepping for that first encounter, taking your time, just chilling but with excitement and trepidation... and then having that first wave of water wipe over your mask to reveal what’s monitoring you from below....just IMAGINE (close your eyes) for a moment that this is what you see!!!! HOLY ACTUAL crap what would you do?

Coexistence is the key to have healthy oceans for the next generations to enjoy. Our actions matter. Our opinions determine whether we care or not; whether we will do something to make the world a better place.. or not. We need sharks in our ocean, we need to care if the fishery we support is decimating sharks population just as by-catch. Sharks are vital to our oceans and our choices do make a difference for them!

🤔Since years im on project #savesharks ... with a hope that all shark projects allover the world make people other mind about them & open them eyes that sharks are not monsters😒.... there are enough videos & documentary to prove this , make interest- watch them.... 🤓Other thing about sharks & also other animals is - respect me & so i respect y - its the same thing with us / humans no?🙄... I made my childhood #dream come true to #swim / #dive in open water with bunch of amazing huge galapagos sharks & barracuda - without cage .... 🤗😍And yes in first 2 minutes i was nervous like a crazy -but for one good reason - when you're fascinated by something since you're child God damn you're nervous , its like to meet your first love😀😀😀 .... The feeling be there & see them so close was unbelievable ... True it makes me really angry knowing that so many people killing them " for nothing 🍜"... 😡👊🏽Think about it - we need them ... And by the way - selfies kill more people then sharks ... @oneoceandiving thank you for this amazing opportunity 🙏🏻... #shark#savesharks#oneoceandiving#tbt#tb#hawaii#oahu#oceanlife#underwater#gopro#usa#explore#saveouroceans#ocean#hi#wanderer#wanderlust#wildlife#worlderlust#travel#traveller#traveling#makedifference#bestmoment#ig#nature 🙇🏽🐠
