Alot of people asks me why I always use moths in my work and what kind of moths I paint , here's some explanation of my work thought I use alot of symbolis in my work and the meaning differ from each painting :
*Leucoma salicis*, the white satin moth or satin moth, is a moth of the Lymantriidae family. It is found in Europe including the British Isles.
Moth symbolis many things differ if it was religion, calture, spiritual or scientific but generally it means determination, attraction, psychic abilities, and faith. Although moths are nocturnal, they are driven toward light .
The moth spiritual totem associates itself with optimistic people who can find the silver lining in any situation, however dark it may be. Its presence encourages us to develop the ability to seek out the positive in any situation, using our intuition and psychic awareness.
The #satinmoth found while i was traveling through #sisters . Originally from the uk, they are #nonnative to north america and are generally considered a pest. They go from white to silver, active during the day and night, and have a voracious appetite. Still fascinating though. They come from those caterpillars we so commonly see making their web nests high in the trees. #moth#moths#entymology#mothsofinstagram . @the_katniss @wheredidpetepark
