The main lodge where customers check in/out, book treks, take cooking classes, and dine in. Similar to the huts and rooms, I liked how the owners chose decor from the local ethnic mountain tribes. They also had a cute but wild puppy that went around biting people's pants and shoes 😂
After spending a night in Hanoi, it was off to Sapa - a 5-hour drive up northwest and located in the mountains near the Vietnam-China border. I knew it was gonna be cold and wet here (with temps between 45-55 degrees while we were there), but it didn't snow or rain on our hiking days so I was happy! I was also happy to have booked a private bamboo hut at a homestay outside of the main town. There was no insulation and the bathroom wasn't heated, but considering how cute it was and how amazing the views were, it was worth it!
