PROGRESS, NOT PERFECTION...
This is a theme my friend and client @kettlebelleyogi and I have discussed often. It’s easy to set your sights on a perfect end goal and forget to congratulate yourself for the daily and weekly progress you make. Holly started working with me in June, with the goal of a handstand press up in mind. However, she was having trouble consistently holding handstand and was also experiencing frequent wrist pain. Luckily, Holly is a great student who does her homework; after weekly handstand coaching sessions and a ton of mobility work, she is now consistently holding a straighter handstand line for 10 second - and experiencing wrist pain much less frequently. She’s well on her way to a press up in the next year or two. Yes, I said YEARS. As humans we always want to shortcut to the “sexy movements”, but that typically leads to a shaky foundation, an overuse injury, and frustration. Better to take the “long way around”, which will set you up with a solid foundation that will transfer to more skills in the long run (and will actually be shorter because you won’t have to wait for that overuse injury to heal). While you’re working on the drills and step by step progressions that lead to your goal, don’t forget to reward yourself for the progress you’re making along the way! 💫

In order to get the results you want for yourself, you have to consistently put in the work. You can’t expect to get huge results from just one day of grinding. You get the results from consistent efforts, day in and day out. I’ve seen people that have achieved high levels of success in various areas of their lives, but when they got the results they wanted, they stopped doing the things that got them the results, and then they lose everything. This applies not only to fitness , but to your career, your family, and your own personal development. You can never stop putting in the effort, unless you are okay with not producing the results you want. I hope this message inspires you to take the necessary action you need to get the results you want.
Chest and Tris. Felt strong and motivated for once. Over the last week or so I’ve been out of it a little. I’ve pushed through. Here’s to hoping the rollercoaster is back on the uphill motion.
Warmup: 100 push-ups
Flat DB press: 5 x 10-failure (heavy) set 5 drop set do unilateral presses 10-failure.
Incline hammer machine: 4 x 12-15
DB flies: 4 x AMAP (immediately after completing the AMAP cut amount of weight used in half and do double the number of reps, that equals one set)
DB pullovers: 3 x 15
Incline pushups: 3 x 20 - failure
Dips: 4 x AMAP
Extra Tricep Work:
Cable Rope pushdowns: 4 x 12-15
Underhand tricep pushdowns: 4 x 12-15
Over head cable tri. extensions: 4 x 12-15
One of my favorite meal-prep options right here: shredded chicken street tacos 🌮🌮🌮🤤. Try using a crockpot to make your shredded chicken and then store it in a Tupperware with the broth until the day you are eating it to prevent it from drying out. 👌🏻 My typical toppings are black beans, diced bell peppers and diced red onion, with salsa for minimal macro impact and/or guac if I am OK with the extra fats. Simple, easy and delicious 😋👨🏼🍳

Within 2 years I pushed my limits, I let my ambition consume me In the best of ways, I never doubted myself no matter how many times I came close but didn’t always come out with a Win...You can and You will get to where you want to be, it may take time but don’t STOP 🙅🏻♀️ keep working and you’ll get there ✊🏻
