So over the years I've seen loads of abandoned boat's (as many other sailors undoubtedly have) in boat yards, marinas even on moorings. There left to decay, uncared for and forgotten.
I always get a rather sad feeling, so much potential being neglected... But for all the abandoned boat's I've seen I've never seen one quite so big, I'm not sure how big she is but I would guess something in the 50ft+ region. She also looks solid and well built.
The word on the boat yard is that she belonged to an American chap and he hasn't ever come back since, this was apparently many years ago. Others have taken a peak on board and apparently she's still beautiful internally. No one knows why she was left behind, perhaps financial problems, perhaps ill health who knows.
I wonder if she will ever be reclaimed and sailed again or left to rot and disintegrate?
A boat like this deserves some TLC. She deserves a second chance.
I hope that some day someone comes along and rescues her and returns her to her former glory🙏
