🎞 Deputy Darren Goodwald conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle because the tag did not match the vehicle. After stopping, the driver fled from the vehicle on foot, and ran around a home. He then returned to the vehicle and attempted to start it and flee. The vehicle would not start and the suspect fled again on foot.
The suspect then attempted to force a female from another vehicle.
Deputy Goodwald was able to catch up with the suspect. However, once on the ground, the suspect fought with the deputy and was able to remove the deputy’s Taser from its holster. The suspect deployed the Taser striking himself and the deputy, incapacitating them both.
The suspect then attempted to steal the deputy’s firearm during the continued struggle. Two citizens intervened to help Deputy Goodwald. Another deputy arrived on scene and deployed his taser to subdue the suspect.
Earlier this week in Port Coquitlam, two power poles were cut down with a chainsaw, and a third pole was cut but remained held up by wires. Along with overhead power lines being brought down, an underground line emerging on one of the poles was severed. These poles held three high voltage lines, carrying 12,000 volts each, and could have seriously injured or killed a member of the public or our crews as they worked to make repairs. Over 4,500 customers lost power as a result and crews made the area safe and restored power to the area by 8 a.m. We’re currently investigating this incident.

A recent article at realtor.com® recommends home buyers ask inspectors important questions that make the buying process less daunting. Do not be afraid to ask your inspector to explain something you do not understand and always ask them how to resolve the problems that arise.
Even the most perfect home has its flaws. Sometimes you come across difficulties following an inspection, but they are often minor and easy to resolve.
Remember these three important follow up questions:
What does this mean?
Is this a major or minor problem?
