Chilly and slightly underdressed 4.5miler today, but an otherwise successful workout. Slowly but surely increased my pace while also increasing my distance so I’m very happy with today. That being said, I will be keeping a closer eye on the temperature and will dress accordingly 😂☃️
Hey folks!! For your charitable consideration, please see my immigrant story below... And if you haven't already could you please donate!? I'll try and run fast I promise. (Link in bio)...
My name is Jonny Santos and I'm one of the lucky immigrants who's getting some UnLocal help. I'm originally from Brazil but I've been in the US for a long time now and started running when I moved to the US
back in high school. When we first got here, my dad sat me down and told me that the only way for me to go to college was for me to get good at something. I didn't
really want to quit playing sports so I told him that I could run far (even though I wasn't quite sure). So my dad wakes me up every morning around 5 am and starts taking me to run, he wasn't sure about running either but figured that if my race was 2 miles I should probably do 6 to get ready for it. I ended up winning State in TX for the next 3 years and ran cross country and track for SMU in Dallas, TX. I stopped running for a long time but picked it up again a few years ago and ran across
Europe in 37 days, well sorta, I ran from the middle of France till the end of Spain through the Camino de Santiago, that's 1003 miles in 37 days (if you get bored
look up #caminorun2015 on Instagram - it's mostly pictures of cows and hills) I've never officially done a marathon, but I can't tell you how much it means to me to have my very first one be for Unlocal"

Love this weather and being able to run to commute to work. So far I’ve saved $8.50 this week and commuted 12 miles. Though I wouldn’t mind if it was about 5-10 degrees warmer.
Preparing for the American Ultra is fun! Logistics are awkward but we are getting there step by step ! 🙏🏻 Most of the states we are going through are twice the size of Ireland! 😅 As you may already know I am stetting about this challenge on behalf of people like Eanna, his parents, his sister & many more individuals and families from every part of Ireland!
When I get asked about Ultra Cycling & Ultra Running Across the USA in 36 days it excites me and makes me nervous at the same time. What happens if this or that .....
But what happens if we do ...
Because I know people like Eanna below, who is always smiling anytime I see him by the way, need me to show up every day and do what I do!
It’s people like Eanna and his family that will keep me driven through every day, every state & every time zone until I get to New York City! 🚴🏽♂️🏃🏻
As also previously mentioned I am hoping to be based in San Francisco from March 1st on and working towards a March 29th start date! 😊 If you would like to come on board or help us out in anyway I would love to hear from you so feel free to reach out! 🙏🏻☘️
Iv got a big few months coming up that’s for sure! Lots going on! Lots of training in the Kerry hills! Excited all the same! 😉
It’s all about the music, ok and the workout, but isn’t it really about the music? The reason we all love @soulcycle and religiously follow instructors (like my girl @moducci) is because of that FEELING you get in Soul when your jam comes on and all you want to do is dance! ⚡️
Attended @soulcycle ‘s first ever #soundbysoulcycle event last week with @bose, an event series all about the music and that I just have to dance it out vibe. Scroll to see what the fuss is all about. #soulgifted
I had good news that my ankle is not a stress fracture but just a severe Achilles Tendonitis. Thanks to the Ortho Sports Medicine surgeon, Dr. Gidumal. Ok, it hurt when he pressed on that one spot on the tendon but I’d take that over hearing the pain of “wear this boot for the next 6-8weeks!” -
I have to take it slow and hope not to create further issues or escalating to a stress fracture. I’ve learned to be more conscientious of stretching, proper footwear for my gait and strength training even when all there’s time to do is run!! You just have to learn to carve out the time - it’s not an option.
I was so bummed thinking that 19 days out from #tcsnycmarathon and I’d be sidelined after 15 weeks of solid training in. -
I did RICE all weekend (with pleading prayers of course!), skipped the Staten Island Half and although some pain, it has subsided a lot. My goal pace/time has to be adjusted but I’ll now be happy to finish. -
It stinks for my running buddies who have had confirmed stress fractures and aren’t able to run their races. I totally get how it is such a bummer! -
Hope you all are keeping up with your health during this taper time for NYC Marathon. Be careful and stay strong!
“I started my week off right yesterday by going to @lymbr_tribeca for a personalized stretching session. Thank you so much @gabrielladavis0 for putting my body back together after Sunday’s 20 mile run 🙌🏼 I instantly felt taller, more even throughout my body and less sore! I definitely recommend coming to check out LYMBR’s beautiful space in TriBeCa. It’s so peaceful and calming, and Gabby is the best!! I told her what hurt/was sore and she knew exactly what to do 🙏🏻” - @body_by_coco

Morning Miles, Cats and conference calls. That sums up my commute by foot to work. Getting ready to head to PA this weekend for the last ever @runnersworldevents festival weekend. Sad to see this series end. Taking on the 10k this weekend and tacking on some additional training miles in my college town.
T-18 days until I’m back at it again and taking on the streets at the @nycmarathon
GRATITUDE. I am filled with gratitude for the love and support you all have shown me the past few weeks leading up to the #nycmarathon and it lifted me up during last weekend's #statenislandhalfmarathon , but the work isn't quite done yet!! I'll put it plainly: with just 5 days left, I have $805 left to raise to reach my fundraising goal for team #naminyc !
Thank you, from the bottom of everything I have, to those who have donated and sent messages of support and congratulations over the past few days-it has meant the world- and now it's time to finish this thing out! Please, please, please consider going to the link in my bio and reading about my campaign and consider donating however much you feel comfortable with. I know how thankful I am for the woman in this photo and her support and those closest to me but I know there is a community out there that when connected by the common bond of running and giving back can make an enormous difference!
So again, I ask that you share this with those you love and care about and consider helping make a difference in the mental health community with a donation to this campaign.💙🏃💪👊💙
Our strength in our mind and bodies are built by choices. CONSISTENT choices day after day... 💥Choosing to eat well
💥Choosing to exercise
💥 Choosing to make time for yourself
💥 Choosing to eliminate toxic environments and people
💥Choosing to be grateful and mindful. 💥Choosing self-love and a positive mindset
So the CHOICE is all yours. How do you choose to live your life?
Cooler temperatures mean easier breathing and faster times! Come hang out and run a few miles with us and @soswanky as he takes you on a journey through out New York City! After you come with us three times, this awesome t shirt is yours! See you here and remember, we leave at 7pm sharp!
It’s been a while since I’ve run in Central Park. A must do when you’re in NY. Impressed by the hundreds of people up early, running, cycling, walking their dogs, and just hanging out. #RunNYC#passionspire
Best run I’ve had since the BK Half back in May! Feeling very good about the next couple weeks of races. 13.4 total (1 up, 5 at mp, 1 easy, 5 at mp, 1 down). A pair if dogs were trying to walk each other at the end.

It was the best feeling of all, to do a race at conversational pace and really enjoy the views/ cheering section. Staten Island half kicked my booty last year, I walked up the mile 10 hill, struggled to maintain a 8min pace finishing in 1:49:55. This year was a completely different experience. I did a short warmup and incorporated my 13.1 miles into a long run ending just shy of another 20 miler. I had a friend with me, and we chatted the whole duration at a comfortable 8min pace (sometimes below) finishing at 1:44:13. I believe my training has played a role in how much easier this one was than last year, even without racing. Also having a friend for all 19.2 miles really helped me push on through, so thanks @laurenbossak !!
