“In most cases, when a woman decides to lose weight, her first instinct is to go into an extended period of severe calorie restriction, coupled with excessive amounts of steady state aerobic exercise (like jogging). Combined with a minimalistic effort to build muscle and a phobia of “bulky appearance,” the female fat loss workout plan is predominantly based on cardiovascular training with occasional light dumbbell work. Unfortunately, this type of approach is counterproductive when trying to achieve fat loss.”

How Running Kept Me Overweight
A drawing I did of a racehorse I once owned. He was a gay horse. Which was fine by me. But was constantly disqualified in all the races entered for being gay. Well, not really for being gay but for trying to ‘mount’ every horse in the paddock or on the track before entering the gate. It was scary yet quite entertaining. But I bought him to run. Fast. Yet he wasn’t. I still loved him. Imagineer was his name. And he loved me too, even after I had to geld him. I mean, he’d literally be walking out onto the track with the biggest hard-on ever!! And the gelding didn’t make things any better for him at the track (he had some reputation though) nor did it make him run any faster. He was the slowest, gayest, most lovely horse I ever met. #staytrue#happyhorse#runningsucks
What to say about World’s Toughest Mudder. I didn’t reach my goal of staying on course the whole 24 hours. I decided not to continue after my hands swelled and I couldn’t grab anything anymore. It was cold (so much for “hotlanta”). I’m not really a huge fan of TM obstacles due to the heights factor. Running in a wetsuit was all sorts of hard. It messes with your gait. You can’t bend the way you usually can. I’m still going to hold my head high even though it didn’t go as planned and possibly come back and see what I can accomplish next year. #wtm18#toughmudder#toughmudder2018#worldstoughestmudder#runningsucks#hotlanta

Dancing lessons with @crossboxusa ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I like hitting things.
Into my second week of boxing & I couldn’t be more obsessed.
I struggle with the new movement patterns; but am loving the challenge. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My little loves and I had a blast celebrating my niece / their cousin’s baptism yesterday.
15 days out from baby ’s due date! Every time we do something or go somewhere, I can’t help but think “Is this the last time we’ll do this as a family of 4?!” Or “The next time we do this, I’ll be a mom of 3!”
I’ve definitely reached the point where I’m really ready to not be pregnant anymore. Partially because I’m uncomfortable and tired and cranky...like winded just walking up a flight of stairs 🤣. Not trying to rush the time away but I’m looking forward to having a bit more control over my body again. Lol.
The boys are also anxiously counting down the days...I’m beyond excited to see them be big brothers to a little one😳😍
Late update, was having too much fun... The race was cancelled, I declare myself heavyweight champion of running by default. I was prepared to put myself through the most grueling physical challenge of my life, but got to spend the best weekend of my life with my amazing girlfriend Ariel instead.
I win. 🏅💕
Running sucks anyway.💪🏽🏋🏽♂️🥊 #30k#mttam#mttamalpais#cancelled#iwinbydefault#trailrun#runningsucks#doitanyway
🤭🤭🤭 Honestly, I hate cardio 🤭🤭🤭 👉🏼 But, I do it anyways!! I set a goal to run a half marathon May 2019 and I want to do it in under 2 hours! This is going to require some serious training for me 😂😂😂
. 👉🏼 So it’s time for me to get training, running a minimum of 3x a week! I started last week... 😨
. 👉🏼 I do want to be honest though, if you’ve been watching my stories you know that getting back into the habit of running on a regular basis has been brutal! Serially I’ve been on the struggle bus with this one! 🚌 .
. 👉🏼 I hate running right now. Literally it makes me so grumpy getting ready for a run lol. It’s nearly winter, and it’s daylight savings time, so it’s dark, cold, wet and windy, which isn’t great. 🌂🌧☔️🌨 Once this past week it started snowing while I was running! ❄️ Can you day double-BRRR!!! ⛄️😳🌬❄️
. 👉🏼 I also haven’t run on a regular basis in over a year! I go for a run here and there, but can’t tell you the last time that I’ve run several times in one week, let alone 2 weeks in a row!
. 👉🏼 I’m happy to update that I managed FIVE 5km runs last week!!! And planning on hitting another 3-5 this week! And I want to share my tips, tricks and secrets for not only running consistently again for the first time in over a year but for doing any habit that you hate doing!! .
. 👉🏼 So! Yesterday I recorded a new podcast episode covering just that! How to do habits you hate! Sharing the exact tricks that I used to get back on the wagon! .
. 👉🏼 Because although it would be nice to only and ever do things we want to do, that doesn’t help us grow and get the things we want! .
. 👉🏼 I’ve already gotten so much great feedback about this new episode, so check it out and let me know what you think! I loveeee hearing from you guys! Link in bio or search “Habit Babe Podcast” on your favourite podcast app! 😊
. 👉🏼 P.S. what’s a habit that you hate doing? But you know it’s really good for you and your goals? For me at the moment, it’s running outside in the cold! 🙄😠😬 What’s yours??? .
