#tbt World-class running. Jemma did it.
I didn’t see her cross the finish line, but I did bump into her at the bag check after her amazing race. She BQ’d on a trial run.
It started 1 year ago (maybe almost 2?) with a DM about how obsessed I was with her account. Then we realized we’d get along, somehow.
She may not speak French, but she’s as much of a Montrealer as the rest of us because she conquered Mount Royal in the Tour de Mont Royal - Brebeuf on the last year they hosted the race with no medal. But they gave her one anyway because she is Jemma with a J and that means #runningqueen with goals, and if you catch her at the finish line after 42.2km you better damn give her a medal. FYI, I didn’t register for the Montreal Rock ‘n’ Roll Oasis 2018 Marathon since I was pacing a friend and not running for time. But when the organizers at the finish line saw me and my raw, bloody thighs (I forgot to wear the protectant 😬) they said I deserve a medal. Seriously, what kind of marathon event organizer creates a race and doesn’t give medals to each participant?? Moving along...
Jemma, I’m grateful for your friendship, your wisdom, you laughs, your perseverance, your unforgivingly candid nature. I know who’s honest when your on the other side of the line.
Can’t wait to visit Clevedon for crumpets filled with melting butter and an overdose of marmite. For now, I’ll just leave this right here.
I hear all the time, that working out is easy for me because I’m in shape. Anytime you do anything different than what your normal is, it is hard. You will probably be really sore! I know that when I try to do something different it uses different muscles... For example, I can easily run 10 miles but if I try to walk 5 miles then my legs hurt my feet hurt and I’m sore for days!! How is this even possible!! Whether you’re starting from ground zero or just amping up your training, new routines are intimidating when you can’t do half the moves lol. The key?... keep showing up!!! Eventually the moves you couldn’t do a month ago are doable!! Today I did a different workout... my body wasn’t used to it!! Guess what?? I had to modify a few times and it kicked my booty!!! Are you scared to start?? Intimidated? We are here to help you!! You only have to be brave enough to try..... So what move have you never been able to do and wish you could?
Grateful Thankful Loved

A run can change your whole day and mood!
I got out the door much later than I would have liked today. It's not that I didn't want to run, its because I struggled to leave the house.
I don't like to say I'm depressed, because I LOVE my life, my boyfriend, my work, my training, my friends & my family. But this week I've struggled inside my head with some things going on and then the little things that go wrong on top of that. .
As I started running this morning, my mind started to clear. So often during training I work out my true feelings about things, memories return and finally, I come up with great ideas and work out how to deal with things. .
There's still sadness in my heart today, but the haze of depression has lifted and I feel like I understand things a lot better.
Cryotherapy. Whole body cryotherapy involves exposing your body to subzero temperatures for 2 to 4 minutes while nearly naked. Temperatures can exceed -200° Fahrenheit.
If you’re wondering why anyone would do this, most people try it for the alleged health benefits. You may have seen claims that it can clear acne, eczema, and psoriasis — as well as give you younger-looking skin.
Staff at spas, gyms, and other places that offer WBC claim that it can alleviate sore muscles and joints after a workout, allowing you to recover faster. It’s even being offered as a way to lose weight and iqssmprove your mood.
