🏃 Work wrapped up early today and I had my running shoes in the trunk. So time to hit a 5k and try not to die. Sometimes you just gotta squeeze it in when you can. Here we go. Prayers up 🙏🙏🙏😂😂😂
Throwback last sunday KL International Towerthon 2018
Been wanting to join this event but missed it 2 years in a row. I think the timing was not right back then, clashes with other events or race. Glad that I signed up this time (event though it was postponed in the beginning due to erection (I mean election la). This year they have this "100 finisher challenge". Meaning in order for you to qualify for the finisher t-shirt, you need to be in top 100. Knowing me, crazy for finisher tshirts and medal, I was like that's it la.. Confirmed sign up la.
Then again, the night before was Sophie's birthday, 3 classes back to back earlier that day, and kiasu me to check last year's top 100 timing (which is 22mins) in order to. qualify 🤦🏼♂️.. I was like.. okie... Nvm la.. See la.. Thanks to @karensiah for. sharing the link on breathing for runners. Been applying that since I read it, and knowing it was stuffy on the way up the stairs, it really helps me pace my steps. Honestly, even though it's stated 2058 steps, I have no freaking idea how many floors. I just know there's 4 water station (to my surprised) before the flagoff.
I ran, and step up, and I kept going. Until I heard someone said "4 lagi" (meaning 4 more to go).. Anyway, long story short, yes I made it into top 100 lah. 55th position for the time of (17min - unofficial ; 20:50 bib timing) Nvm la, as long I get the finisher T. 😂. *Hiles* today! Think of hills and mile repeats having an offspring- they’d be hiles 😂! Here was the WO, along with my inner dialogue:
⏹1 mile warm up @ 8:48 pace (feeling strong and excited to see what I can do)
⬆️1 mile hard uphill @ 7:20 pace (wow- this is tough, but I’m strong and feeling A-OK)
⬇️1 mile easy downhill @ 7:53 pace (loving the downhill- ahhhh)
⬆️1 mile hard uphill @ 7:21 pace (holy crap, my legs are going to fall off. They feel like jello. I can’t move them any faster. Since my legs won’t go faster, what CAN I do? I can swing my arms harder and get my breathing under control- yay, it hurts but quitting isn’t an option- I can DO this!)
⬇️1 mile easy downhill @ 8:03 pace (YES- this is definitely feeling SO much better!)
⬆️ 1 mile easy uphill @ 9:43 pace (chillin to get my HR back down while climbing, so keeping it slow).
⬇️1 mile hard downhill @ 6:17 pace (lungs feel great, but legs are rubber from those uphills. Push hard and activate those glutes!)
⬆️1 mile easy uphill @ 9:41 pace (Feeling tired, this is a hard WO- but I can still finish strong, I know it!)
⬇️1 mile hard downhill @ 6:12 pace (Give it everything you’ve got left girl- you’re almost done! Found a gear I didn’t know I had the last 200)!
No cool down jog- just walked it off ☺️
Working on the positivity- and smiling as much as possible. I’m tired, but feel good about this one!

Un día súper emocionante, intenso y de fallas técnicas 😅
Me incluí en la carrera de 10km del #circuitocity ya con 25km en el bolsillo, y lo demás era "a ritmo" solo salí a correr a completar la ruta, como en el km 8 (yo no sabía que km iba 🙄) y di mi último Sprint y ahí no era 😫. Generalmente cuando uno hace eso lo da todooo, literal todooo... Y aún faltaba distancia, era un vuelta larguísima 😖 . Yo iba tercera, porque las dos chicas mas rápidas de Panamá iban súper lejos y nunca me pasó por la mente buscar ese ritmo ( jamás iba a poder ) me iban a pasar, así que rematé de nuevo ( no sé con qué energía ).

Wczoraj późno wróciłam do domu, ale mówię - dobra - ustawiam budzik na 8:00 żeby zdążyć na @runbeachmorning - a więc wychodzi 5:40h snu - znowu się nie wyśpię - tak sobie myślę - ale dobra - wstanę - jutro pomyślę, czy dam radę - a no więc wstałam, ogarnęłam się, odpaliłam rower - a paliwem siła mięśni - pełny bak - i do celu ! 💪A już za tydzień - Wielki Finał Run Beach Morning - zapisy wciąż trwają na elektronicznezapisy.pl ! 🤗 - Polecam ! - to więcej niż 5km bieg po plaży - to możliwość poznania interesujących ludzi ! - Ja po żadnym innym biegu nie poznałam tylu biegowych świrów ! 😂

Hill Sprint & Shadowbox
Set a treadmill to 15% Incline and 10mph. Every minute on the minute begin with a 20 second sprint. Carefully exit the treadmill by grabbing the handles and stepping off. Grab a set of 5lb dumbbells or plates and shadow box for 30 seconds. Repeat for 10 rounds and a total of 10 minutes. You will have 5 seconds to transition off of the treadmill and grab your weights and another 5 seconds to transition back to the run. Be strict about the time intervals and keep your hands up!

It was so awesome to be back on the trails. These @altrarunning Superiors have been staring at me for six weeks. I finally got to try them out and they didn’t disappoint. Super comfortable with excellent ground feel and grip.
