Today was a good day for the Aussies in Calgary! My first day sliding, and it was awesome. Step 6 complete: get on the track. ☑️ This video is @ashleighwerner and @kaelasparre sliding through curve 10 nicely. I'll show everyone a video of my driving really soon. Maybe haha.
Nobody is better than anyone
January of last year, I was a runner who finished a half marathon in 2:00:42, weighed 202 lbs, and it was so hard for me to finish the race. At that time I only thought that the Boston Marathon was for Elites only. One year and 5 months later I ran a marathon in 2:55:01 ... it means doing two half marathon in about 1:27:30. Now I will run the race that in less than two years I thought were only for Elites people. Set a goal so BIG that you can not achieve it until you grow into the person who can !!

En enero del del año pasado era un corredor que terminó una media maratón en 2:00:42, pesaba 202 libras y fue muy díficil para mí terminar la carrera. En ese momento pensé que el maratón de Boston era solo para élites. Un año y 5 meses después corrí un maratón en 2:55:01... Que significa hacer dos medias maratones en aproximadamente 1:27:30. Ahora correré la carrera que hace menos de dos años pensé era para élites. ¡Establece un objeto tan GRANDE que no puedas lograrlo hasta que te conviertas en la persona que puede!

First the trail run yesterday, the 5k and then the 10k at the @runnersworldmag festival! ⠀
The 5 and 10k are in the same morning and it was so fun! I was lucky to snag 2 AG 🥈 and 8th overall in the Trail run, and 5th and 6th place AG in the 5k (21:49 - 7:01 pace) and 10k (47:40 - 7:39 pace). ⠀
I’m just 2 weeks post St George Marathon and New York is in 2 weeks so I’m happy with my effort and times. ⠀
I’ve never done 3 races this close together but have really enjoyed racing each distance. It’s been a blast here! 🎉»⠀

What’s your goal? And I’m not talking about your “maybe I’ll reach it someday but probably not” or the “this is obtainable in a week” goal. What is it that you want to do, that scares you to try, but you are willing to give it your all, regardless of if you fail? This is me chasing my big goal of completing a 5k in under 30 minutes. My current time sits at 30:55 and I know, without a doubt, that I will accomplish this goal, regardless of how many more times I try. Each time I come a little bit closer and every race I attempt to reach my goal and fall short is not a failed attempt. It’s a step in the direction of reaching my long time goal.
