7 x 800m at the track this week. Loved it. Our best ever speed session! We both came away so happy and full of confidence. So good to see Meg @26.2_marathon_girl happy with herself and see what I see in her everyday. Really enjoyed this session and brilliant prep for our final race of the year in a few weeks and for the beginning of marathon training #runningcouple#track#speedsession#freezing#yassos#loveher#brooks#blackpearjoggers
🏃🏼♀️: How hard would you work to get a selfie with your reindeer socks? I spent wayyy too much time with the selfie stick trying to get a photo showcasing my Run Run Rudolph knee socks. 🤦🏼♀️ I’m not exactly proud of it, but I’d probably do it again haha!
Easy, rainy 5K today. 🌧 I ended up doing neither a 10K tempo nor a 8 mile long run today. Turns out we’ll have just enough time to sneak in our Saturday morning run before we make our way over to the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery to volunteer for the annual Wreaths Across America.
Wreaths Across America is an amazing nationwide event designed to honor our veterans during Christmas time. Volunteers lay wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes & then say their name aloud in an act of remembrance. I just learned about this program recently through my sister and I love the idea of honoring the many men and women who have served our country.
We often times get wrapped up in all the excitement of Christmas and frenzy of gift giving, cooking, and planning for time with our family or our vacations, so it’s good to take a step back and remember those who have sacrificed so much and have made it possible for us to enjoy these freedoms.
I’m really excited to be a part of Wreaths Across America this year! And as I’m laying wreaths on the graves of soldiers I’ve never known, I’ll be mentally laying a wreath on my Grampa’s grave to honor him as well. 💚🎄
DAY 718 #5kmaday
Inspired by @luv2run101 and his gorgeous little daughter Tilly, to give it a 1km crack during tonights 5k. Turned a corner after 400m straight into a head wind for the last 600m, and thought we had no chance but some people in life dont have the opportunity to just give up and wait for a day of clear skies. So no giving up, pushed on through.
Finally a 15k again for me 😃 I just was in the mood for it and told my self I would run it today💪🏻 After 12 k my body thought I was kidding and he was trying to tell me that I should stop 😂 do you know that feeling?

Can you believe 3 new species of sharks were found in 2018?!? Check out the amazing photo ♥️🦈

Sure we all know this iconic species! But did you know we are still discovering new species of #sharks all the time? 3 in 2018 alone to be exact! That’s the incredible thing about the oceans... so many mysteries still waiting to be discovered. 💙

Both the kids were home from school today due to a stomach bug that kept most of the school home so I didn’t get to run with the lovely @the4bz and didn’t get to take a photo on my run. I mean, there’s nothing more scenic than her! Got back from my 4 miles and grabbed the medal from our @1stplacesports Festival of Lights 5K in Jacksonville this past weekend. I still have the bells on my shoes but hadn’t gotten a chance to take a photo of the bling yet. Great addition to our Christmas decorations!

🇺🇸🇬🇧 Mud, water and cold weather, ladies and gentlemen "Il piccolo trail delle Bregonze"! Today I ran with honey the first edition of this race, and it was very tough: slippy mud all along the path, many little cold torrents 🌊 to ford and also some 🌬 freezing breeze. More, I don't like hills because certain times I have to walk instead of running. Well, I'm definetely NOT a trail runner, even if I must say that after two years of running I'm much better at it. Now, let's return preparing my season's biggest target: beat my PB at the next half marathon! 😎
🏃🏼♀️: Easy 3 mile run. I wanted to do an easy short run today because I’m debating between running a 10K tempo or 8 mile long run tomorrow. I’m interested in testing my fitness before training, halfway through training, and just before the race in January. It’s a benchmark approach we used to take in high school training to see if we were on track for our goals. But I also know I’m not going to be able to do a long run Saturday so I kind of need to do it Friday. So who knows what I’ll end up doing haha!
Just as I finished running, it started pouring! I was waiting for the sunrise and it just started coming down, zero warning. 🌧Guess I should have checked the forecast lol! have a great Thursday y’all
PS loving these new leggings from @senita!! The cutouts are so cute and I absolutely LOVE the side pockets! It came in handy for storing my phone today when it started pouring! Also stashed my car key in there during my run. Hello to no longer tying my car key in my shoe laces haha!
When I see love, compassion and sacrifice I pay attention. It’s rare in today’s world. So many are for themselves only that I can’t help but admire these types of people. This pic may not seem like much to some but to me I see a woman that can’t be beat. I see a strength no man could match. I see a mothers love. I see a warrior of a woman whom I am blessed to love ❤️ @jessicas.ultra.miles #runningcouple#motherslove
🏃🏼♀️: Day 3 in a row of morning running (dare I call that a streak? 🤔)! It wasn’t easy getting up this morning and I was dragging out the door, on the drive down, & actually getting started on my run. During the first mile I was tired and thought I might just cut it to 3 miles (from my original 5 miles plan). But once I got on the lake trail my pace just kept picking up and I fell into my “groove” and it felt good to just keep going. It’s been awhile since I’ve felt like that. During the 4 months of marathon training and the month after I just felt drained and running was more of an obligation at times than something to enjoy. But today I felt that old fire and motivation to keep pushing and to see where the run would go. I ended up with a good 5 mile run and my best pace in months of 7:50/mile and I even hit 7:30 at mile 4! I was so excited and so grateful for having an unexpectedly positive start to my morning. 🙌🏻 It just proves that sometimes you don’t need to have a plan: just put on your running shoes, hit the trail, and see what happens! Sometimes it’s something great! 😊
