Pretty much my single favorite strength development exercise. Hip thrusts make such a huge difference for all movements - especially deadlifts and squatting.
Just 80kgs on the bar in the video but I worked up to 5 reps at 100kgs. Definitely worth adding into everyones routine if you are looking to get off your strength plateau and start hitting some bigger numbers.

I had SO much work to do after years of marathoning made my quads and hamstrings so strong my butt majorly took the backseat. These have been the most effective exercises for me to get my buns a burnin and functioning again!
It’s very important to ACTIVATE your glutes with a warmup (1st video is an example of activation exercises) especially if you have a hard time feeling them during your workout. Close your eyes, connect to your butt (haha yep) and squeeze!! This runner who was at the Running Clinic this morning improved her running, by being more aware of (and executing) pulling her feet off the ground
1st photo (Left=Before; Right=After): her Running #Pose and where her feet are under her general center of mass as an effect of how much Falling she is experiencing
2nd photo (Left=Before; Right=After): 3 frames (30 frames/second camera) after Pose, her Pulling of her feet is much quicker: it is much more reflexive and her foot is higher off the ground because she is now more aware of what to do-Pull!
3rd photo (Left=Before; Right=After): 4 frames (30 frames/second camera) after Pose, you can see she is Pulling more now than she did before, and she is now airborne longer and Falling more than before; this means she will be able to run Faster and to her, #Running will now feel much better than before
1 thing to improve on over time is to be not have the Waist Bend ("Lean"), or Hip Flexion when in the Running Pose; she should be more aligned- head, shoulders, hips, ankles

2. I honestly wasn’t sure after my half last November if I’d ever see this number in my miles again. But I was patient, listened to my body, got medical and professional help, and made goals. But I may have said outloud to @andrew_morris90 “I’m so over running” yesterday. 🏃🏼♀️ But I was super hangry. I can’t be held accountable for what I say when working out hungry.

Back to basics for me today. Capped of a leg strength session today with some oldie but goodie PT exercises for pelvic floor and TVA activation. I know this will help support my running 🏃🏽♀️and growing belly 🤰🏻as well as prehab my abs before BGO2 👶🏻🎀arrives so why haven’t I been doing this all along? 🤷🏻♀️From here on out heel slides, glute bridges, and clamshells will be added to the daily rotation. #physicaltherapy#prehab#corestrength
