Bought hubby some @runr_uk magnets to hold his race numbers on. Thought i’d test them out. My goodness they are strong. This is a thick envelope and it won’t budge. In fact even just one magnet happily held it onto the vest (see second picture) #runr#ukrunning#runnerscommunity#ukrunchat
Run 🏃sea🌊 and sun☀️
Have a sweet Wednesday runners 🤘
Live😁 love❤️ and run 🏃♀️
5km Morning Run
That wasn’t the easiest today - tiredness and heavy legs made it feel tough not to mention I was too warm and wearing my mums trainers 🤦🏼♀️ Yup I forgot to bring with me pretty much the most essential piece of kit for running - my trainers 😩 so luckily my mum had a pair which meant I could still go and get a run in or it would have been a pretty wasted journey 😂🙈 Glad to have got something in and now home and soooooo ready for food! Breakfast or brunch not sure yet I just need to eat! 😍
So after a quiet month from a social media perspective, I’m back! Had a great experience on the weekend with the one race,City 2 Surf, I had been waiting 2 years to complete (Runkeeper told me on Monday that it was 2 years since I started running). I reflect back even 6 months ago when I was struggling to make a comeback. It wasn’t until June that I started competitive running again (non parkrun runs). I now move in to a qualifying group, which was just my aim with this run (Green). City to Surf was tough for the middle 1.6km but the rest of it is pretty fast and plenty of scope for improvement next year.
My first workout in four weeks was a success. 2 mile warm-up followed by one minute on/one minute off for 24 minutes, with a 2 mile cooldown. My fast paces were supposed to be 7:00/mi and I slightly exceeded that on every rep. I’ll be following this up with a lunchtime lifting session. I often hear that you should double up your lifting with your hard days. This will be one of my first. Might be a little sore tomorrow!!
TIPS & WEETJES WOENSDAG 🏃🏻♀️🏃🏼♂️
When you're on a truncate timetable... 😳
Normally I have a rest day after a race but with one month to the Great North Run there's no such luxury... So I've opted to adapt! 😁
Monday: I didn't run - I biked to the gym ~ Did a full heavy weights session ~ Did Core Blimey (I would like to add it's Wednesday and my abs are so sore I'm scared to laugh or cough! 😂) ~ I biked home! 😊
Tuesday: I donned on my big Salomon backpack containing spin gear and ran 3 miles ~ Then went straight into a Spinning class! (Again I would like to add that it's been ages since I've done this combo and OMG! 😂) ~ I got a lift home with my hubster! 😊
So back with a vengeance with HM training (and making sure I get three runs in) and thankfully today is a rest day.... my body has breathed a sigh of relief! 😁
Feel Good Inc Brings You Run Happy (and necessity is the mother of invention... necessity is also the mother of adaptation... commonly known as Free styling! 😄) 😉

Dropped my baby and big girl off for the their first settling in session at childminder’s this morning. They were absolutely fine. I tried not to cry in the car on the way home. -
I couldn’t hack it as a “stay-at-home” parent but that doesn’t mean the idea of leaving my baby everyday to go to work isn’t a bit heartbreaking. I’ve done this before and I know it’ll be fine. Our eldest flourished at nursery and relish the challenges work brings but right now it feels pretty raw. -
Being able to go for a sneaky run definitely helped and as I attempted my second speed session pushing my body to work harder gave my brain a break. Now sat in a heap after a long shower enjoying the blissful sound of near silence. For another 47 minutes that is. -
Barely had time for today’s 15ish miler (2:20, might have been closer to 16, gps gets weird in central London) because I have to complete this list of stuff because my dissertation is due in a month and I’m panicked lol. Going off the grid now bye.
Old school watch photo today- Why? Because lately I have been posting my easier days in my stories because truthfully I don’t have that many inspiring things to say everyday! 😂 But really... I ran 11 hard miles yesterday and got so many messages about my run(thank you everyone ❤️) but every run should be celebrated. I’m thankful every day that I get to lace up my shoes and go... whether it’s two miles or twenty! 🙏🏻
It’s all about balance and you can’t run a workout every day(well at least I can’t) so 5 miles felt great today. Started with a 10:24 mile and ended with a 9:21 mile.
Keep on, keepin’ on friends!! Halfway through this week! ✌🏻
