I think the worst part about winter running is that it gets dark so quickly. Started this run when it was still light out and ended in complete darkness. I feel silly wearing my headlamp when it's light out but I could have really used it for the last two miles tonight! 💡🌃
8.2 miles for day 16 of #3for31 ✔️ wrapping up week two of base building with 25 miles (did the math before my run to make sure I'd end with a round number 🙃). The base is slowllllly being built, getting excited for real training soon 🏃🏻♀️
Ran on the treadmill while my husband played video games next to me and this is what happened when he noticed I was taking a picture lol Even though I’m laughing and happy in this photo, today’s run was rough. I was optimistic I would run 5 miles today and it just didn’t happen. I’ve been naive about my knee lately and haven’t given it the care and support it needs to heal. I ran 1.5 before I started walking. I walked at an incline for the rest half mile but that was it. 2 miles in the bank today which is not what I wanted but I guess it’s better than nothing.
LONG POST ALERT 🚨 I swear I have a pair of Nikes 👟💛 to match any redbull LOL 😂🤣😆 I know I’m silly! Tried the tropical one for the first time today and it was good but honestly the purple açaí berry still beats them all so far! Another busy day today so needed my pick me up! So I admit I have been careless about my nutrition since Halloween but told myself to enjoy in moderation until January 2019 and I will try my best to eat and drink better 😬 it’s one of my weakness! I can workout everyday and enjoy it, but when it comes to my nutrition I suck at it! But hopefully I can do this because I have self conscious issues about my body and need to stop and be happy with myself! If I want this I need to do it and stop giving up or being careless. I’m not asking for pity, I just want you all to know I keep it real and struggle with this! Have a great night ✌🏽❤️ thanks for reading 📖
Today is one of those rare warm enough for a sports bra December days. 🌞 Minus when you run in the shade and you're freezing. 😂
This was one of those runs that you let flow and ease into the pace. I've been focusing on a ton of stability work, hip strengthening, and mobility, and it definitely showed in how today felt. My glutes fired, my feet landed underneath me, and my mechanics came together. And in even better news, I have 3 more days of work until Chrismas break! 🙌 Have a great week everyone! 💜
10 miles, 1:25:08, 8:30/mile
Today I pushed pretty hard. Between early hills (planned for) and a butterfly cramp at 11 (surprise!), I fell about 2 min short of my goal. Still a solid run, on a beautiful course with some fierce competition! Plus, it’s not Christmas time without getting a pic with Santa!

For I am not so enamoured of my own opinions that I disregard what others may think of them.
Had some time on the trail to recenter the mind and, also, be reminded how little of this I can control when I don't fuel myself properly. 30 miles turned into "25 will do..." into "20 is no kind of wasted Sunday" all that way into get me outta here, I'll be back when my muscles aren't saturated in sugar. Yuck.
24 hours?! Can you imagine running for 24 hours straight? I was listening to @lindseyhein626 podcast with Camille Herron, and I was just so impressed by the fact that she ran 160+ miles in 24 hours. And it was around a track!!
I can’t imagine running for that long without sleep. During the early weeks with my son, I was such a zombie when I was sleep deprived so I can’t imagine running like that. And, it would be so easy to quit since it’s just on a track!
Do you think your mind or body would fatigue first?
A fun evening and, if I’m being honest, totally what I needed to get out of my own headspace tonight. .
These girls are all so different with different goals, different daily grinds and different priorities. Amongst so much else, it was so nice to hear what was important to everyone tonight. What they’ve achieved this year and what they’ve got on the cards for next year (and beyond!). .
I feel like I’ve been sitting on the outskirts of my running community for most of this year but tonight was one of those nights that reminded me just what it is that’s out there and why I want to be part of it. .
Thank you ladies!
Strength day! Plenty of PT work to help warm-up then hamstring and core focus for the rest.
I love that my gym has the 15 kilogram bar (Often called a women’s bar), it’s much easier for me to hook grip, which makes me feel more secure in my deadlifts. I’m fine using the 20k bars too (and for some reason that math comes easier to me when using them) but I prefer the 15 for comfort.
Giving it another chance to "Chase the Rabbit" Our second attempt due to the rain. (4.6M and 4M for the shorter version) 🐰🏃🏃♀️

Just another marathon training long run, except this time we got medals, a finisher’s shirt and breakfast! Couldn’t have been more perfect with the weather, flat course, and awesome friends to run with. And we had the best cheering squad at the finish line!!!
