I am starting to finally feel like me again on the run. So much so that I have finally broken the 20minute 5k barrier I've been banging my head against for the last couple of years now.
I'm not gonna lie, every stride is still a struggle. The long steady inclines combined with steep hills can be very challenging, especially on tired legs.
So its feeling like I can say goodbye to the short frequent run schedule, and get back into my regular mileage soon. This coming week should be a 10, 13, and 8 with a couple 10k's thrown in, but we will have to see how things go😁

Happy Sunday Run Day! 4 miles completed. I am happy with what I accomplished today. Although I do need to add more miles to my runs. I have a half marathon coming up next month.
I also have the last runDisney Incredibles Shorts 5k to complete before the end of August.
I am constantly signing up for different runs throughout the year. My thought is I f I always have a run coming up, I always have something to train for. This keeps me motivated to work on improving. I’m very competitive. Mostly the competition is with myself to do better then the last run. It doesn’t always happen but I try. 😊
I broke out an old pair of spikes yesterday to have some fun on the trails because the Bemidji HS XC team had a 2 mile time trial open to alumni. I've never run on the trails at the new high school since I graduated from the old one! It's fun to fly over trails in spikes again, though it's hard to believe next year it will be 20 years since I graduated from BHS! 🎓
The funny thing is these spikes are older than most of the kids running! It was fun to show them an old lady can still run fast 😊. #keeprunning#nevergiveup#chasingtheboys#xc#lumberjacks#runner4life#latergram
So I’ve been doing 8 miles in an hour and unbeknownst to me I’ve been doing a 7.5 minute mile when I had previously done a 9 minute mile - when did it change? Cape Cod magic maybe? Don’t know but I’m loving it!! Loving the Cape Cod Rail Trail #feelingstrong#runner4life
Another day that was supposed to be a rest day, turns into a run day fun day. I just could not seem to stay off my legs this week!😁
Maybe it has something to do with being in a new environment. Maybe it has something to do with fairly recent life/people challenges I had to endure and adapt to. Maybe it has something to do with trying to reconcile what I think my interpersonal relationships should be, and what they actually are. *sigh* anyway it goes, I am very happy to be able to run on such a beautiful day.
I just realized I have not been tracking any of my miles Herr (oops sorry), so here is what I've been up to.
56 miles traveled
1,730 feet in elevation gained

Runner went 7 easy miles with me this morning.... if you would have met him 7 months ago, you would have met a very scared, timid, skinny, anxious, sad dog that wouldn't come close to you, or look you in the eyes. He'd cower when you'd go to pet him or grab his leash, he'd hide and run from you out of fear..... he came to us by accident, I started running with him 5x week, after only 2 days he didn't need a leash to stay with me, he knew I was his friend and he ran right with me on every run. It's taken a lot of patience from our family, and a lot of attention and love.
This picture shows who he is now... he's happy, energetic, full of life, loyal, loving, friendly(er) (he still won't go to everyone, but it's getting better), and very obedient. He always wants to be included and loves to snuggle! I knew running was good for my anxiety and depression, but never thought of the impact it could have on an animal🐶

#amoMallorca#uepcomanam#portocolom#mallorca#runners#runner4life#disfruteitors#correcorre
