The lost skill of relaxation❓
➡️ The human body gets stronger and more resilient by adapting and recovering from stress. The ability to adapt and get stronger is dependant on the ability to recover.
➡️ Recovery is where the true adaptations are made. If the level of stress is too high or there is never a chance to recover, then forward progress will slow down, stop, or even go backwards.
🔑 Stress comes in many forms...physical, mental, and emotional. All stress is additive and must be accounted for.
↪️ In today’s society, we glorify being busy, grinding, and going hard at all times. This often comes at the expense of recovery and relaxation, which is a key element of forward progress and growth.
❗️ It seems that it is more and more difficult for people to relax these days. It is a skill that must be developed, as it is essential for ridding the body of built up stress. Physical and mental relaxation must be prioritized and trained in order for you to achieve homeostasis.

Want to mix up your Rows? Or maybe your dumbbells aren’t heavy enough? Try these 2 landmine row variations:
1️⃣Lever Rows: stand to the side of the landmine as if you were going to do a suitcase deadlift. Sit into a hip hinge, grab the bar with a neutral grip just below the sleeve and row just like a 1-arm DB row.
2️⃣Meadows Rows: made famous by the legendary @mountaindog1, these let you really load up the weight. Plus, the pronated grip carries over nicely to the bench press and deadlift. Tip: wear straps so the fat end of the barbell doesn’t limit how much weight you can use.
💡Bonus Tip: load these exercises with 25 pound plates so you can use a bigger range of motion!

We managed to make the 4.30pm Cardio Burn, the last rowing class of the week at @thecardioclub. In between rowing, our trainer Dennis made us squat and press with weighted bars, do regular squats, slam medicine balls to the ground, plank and see-saw our arms on the mobile seat of the rower 10x, plank and pull the seat in and out with our feet 10x, get back on the rower and sprint as fast as we could and finally throw 10-15kg medicine balls over our shoulder AMRAPs. 3 rounds of Hell 🔥🔥🔥. At the end, we emulated windmills with our arms, trying  to cool down from the intense workout. 😂🤣

Late Friday post 😊 😊 😊 !Great #wod and solid solid effort! So with my bday coming up... I was looking for some gift ideas for myself and thought of getting a barbell. Well that shit got nipped in a bud pretty quick. My coach @barbellbabebri said I don’t get to own a bar until I can #squatsnatch  100lbs. 😂 So you best believe I watched a bunch of videos from @juggernauttraining and worked on that #snatch yesterday for almost an hour. I have a ton of work on my form so for now PVC, barbell and light bumpers. And looots of drills. Anyway! I will get there!!! 😬Started with 10min #e2mom 5x8 #floorpress and worked up to 120lb. Then had a #metcon FT. 40 #pullups + 40 #kbsnatch at 35lb + 30cal #row + 400m run with 14lb medball. I killed it with the exception of pull-ups - still do these banded. Wahh! Why do I love this move?
1️⃣ Increased Core Activation
2️⃣ Rowing form has to be near perfect or you’ll tumble
3️⃣ Concentration has to be honed in as you’ll be making adjustments and technique corrections the WHOLE time you’re rowing. Body awareness on level 💯

Once you master the Bird Dog, adding the row is great next step. Perform this move on a bench with opposite arm and leg supporting you. Straighten the other leg back and hold a weight in the opposite hand. Row slow and controlled all while bracing your core and keeping a rigid spine! This is one of those easier said than done exercises and can be frustrating at first, but it’s one worth mastering!
