Like I said earlier, got the gift of being able to spend some time at the gym. Got through my full shoulder workout and lifted heavy.
No #halfmarathontraining today, Nike said it was a rest day.
Also skipped #cycling for the day, but I’ll be back at it hard over the weekend.
Did however, row started with the set of 5x100m and then the @fmrowing challenge of 8x500m. The swear emoji is for a wicked chest a back pain (I think my body was saying “why’re you going so fast?” Or maybe just not stretching). After taking one slower it felt much better.
Ready for the weekend!
Whatever happens, some will win, some will lose, some will sit around to sing the blues. Don’t stop believing, hold on to that feeling. R2AK glory is waiting about one hundred country upwind miles to the north.

Day 1 of #HWR and 5 of our 6 crews have conquered TTs and heats to make it to Saturday. Keep checking out our story for live info. @henleywregatta
Thanks to @werow_life as always for the amazing shots, and unique view of the real regatta experience. Big fans 👌
Note to self: wear a stringer for back training videos next time 🤔
This is my final set of seated rows. I frequently see people get really crazy with their form (excessive torso rocking or backwards lean) to “complete” their reps. Remember, the goal is not simply to move weight from point A to point B, but to leverage the muscles that you want to grow to move the weight.
You can see in the video that my torso remains quite rigid and my form only broke with a slight backwards lean to complete the final rep. This keeps the stress and tension on the muscles that I’m trying to work. .
In general, if you need to break form to complete a rep, the set is done. Further reps with poor form just increase your chance of injuring yourself. Keep this in mind and keep your form tight, especially on this exercise as people cheat it frequently.
Whole 30 Day 3:
Breakfast: scrambled eggs 🥚 and a plum
Snack: snap peas and some @traderjoes plantain🍌chips
Lunch: some of the leftover shrimp🦐soup from yesterday
Snack: pineapple and some cherries🍒
Dinner: I roasted a big pan of chicken, carrots and potatoes seasoned with salt, pepper, oregano and basil, that I’ll be able to eat on for a few days. I ate them on a bed of kale with was pretty tasty.
