I don't love shooting in direct sun, but sometimes you just have to do it for the background. The smoke was intense in Lake Louise last week and the sun was so bright, so between the two, the lake water just wouldn't show up unless we shot directly in the sun. I'm happy it turned out so well!
I sometimes panic when I think of vacation away from work but no matter how terrible we slept in our tiny little tent it was so worth it! Days adventuring, exploring, jumping waves, swimming in waterfalls, boogie boarding, evening swims, campfires, sticky fingers and faces from marshmallows and coffee in the outdoors. So much goodness. I’ll be back in the office tonight and tomorrow so if you are waiting to hear from me- I’m coming!!
When two of your favourite people get married and ask you to be the photographers it makes for a pretty incredible week!
These two created the most amazing wedding in Belleville Ontario and we were so lucky to be a part of it. Check out all the photos on our blog!

👰🏼🤵🏼Congrats to Leah and Russell! 🎊 These sweet souls were married today at 10,500 feet, in Rocky Mountain National Park. ⛰ Their elopement included a tribute to their loving doggos with kisses sent to them on the winds - and a Unity Painting that turned out like a legit piece of art. 🎨 I also love, in the last pic, awesome photographer @megansimpsonphoto hiding out like Waldo to get that shot. 📷 I had a wonderful day and once again, I’m just feeling so lucky to be invited along on these adventures. 💕 Congrats again you crazy kids and thanks for choosing me to officiate! ❤️
After 7 years of owning M&LDesign, @mmccoy0427 and I FINALLY activated our Instagram (we’re always fashionably late to the party). Make sure to check out our sneak peak of our latest Rocky Mountain Wedding, @dellaterramountainchateau did not disappoint. •
Such a special day with these two! We narrowly missed the craziest Colorado rainstorm haha. I was like “nah, it’s fine” as the dark clouds came thundering over/ then on the drive home- it was innnnsane!
Maybe its her own red hair or the fact that she was a red-headed mermaid in a play as a child. But when she tried the dress on, she felt so good about it. When she was told the name of the dress that’s when the tears came.

On your wedding day you envision walking down the aisle as husband and wife with your friends and family smiling on as they gently toss flower petals at you as you pass in celebration.... then there's the reality when you walk past your parents and get to your other relatives and friends who do their best to pelt you with the flowers!
this may be the most reposted wedding image of all time, but I just can't get enough of it. this wedding style checks all the boxes: tassel earrings ✔️ bohemian lace cap-sleeve gown ✔️ moody florals ✔️relaxed up-down hair ✔️ image: @sbcreativeco_
I was headed back home from a shoot on a ranch on Monday. Covered in dirt and looking forward to a shower and clothes that did not smell like a barn, I got a call from a friend. She was doing hair and makeup for a bride that got a call from her photographer saying she was not going to make it. Their ceremony started in an hour. Luckily I had all of my gear ready to go and was only 45 minutes away. I showed up to the ceremony and honestly felt somewhat like a celebrity. Everyone coming up to me thanking me for arriving so last minute. Not caring at all that I had jeans with dirt and holes, hiking boots, and a shirt with a peace sign on it. Multiple times over the next few hours I was thanked, offered a drink, and hugged. When in actuality I was the one that kept thinking this is another day I can add to the "thankful I do what I love" list. I know everyone was looking at me as the savior. But these shoots I do, although only a day or a few hours at times, are my saving grace (not to get too gushy). To be able to create photographs and art for absolutely wonderful people and call it a Monday at work is really special to me. I think about when I would get asked at interviews before I started my company, "what do you hope to be doing in ten years" and don't know how I could have ever expected to be living in an beautiful town, photographing and getting to know new and interesting people every week and calling it my full time job. It seems unreal sometimes and I honestly I hope that feeling never goes away. Thank you Beth & Kurt for an amazing Monday!

Almost 2,000km in 4 days.
Hi, my name is Marie-Louise and I love merging the concepts of adventure and romance together.
Over the past 4 days, I drove up from Vancouver to photograph a beautiful lake side wedding in the Okanagan, then decided last minute to bring my parents with me up to Lake Louise where I let them explore while going off to photograph an engagement session among the mountains. We then traveled up the Ice Fields Parkway to the Athabaska Glacier. Subsequently driving all the way back the next day.
Humans can make as many glorious buildings as we want, but we will never accomplish what mother nature has created.
We are so lucky to have her canvas as our backdrops, our special places where we relax into each other’s arms, her light in the morning to guide our day and colourful hues in the evening to wish us goodnight.
I love sharing these locations with my couples; pulling off to the shoulder of the road and running over to soak in the views. Giving you photos to look back on and think, “Look at how wild and free we lived”.
Photo taken by my mom; who’s film camera I stole many times when I was young and likely started my interest in photography.
If there's tall grass and weeds, I'm going to bee line to it and make you stand in it... because look at how pretty it is!! It might be itchy (ok, no might about it, you'll get bit) but it'll look amazing!!
It's said that rain on your wedding day is good luck... so Kayla & Brady have a million buckets of good luck on the way to them! Do you like the rain? I'll take 2 weeks of rain if it would help stop the wildfires.
Don’t forget to lose yourself in nature. A nice restart goes a long way. My husband and my favorite spot in Colorado is Telluride. Even the drive to and from is gorgeous! #telluride#getaway#getlostinnature
