When brides beam it makes my day. These two celebrated their big love with family and friends on Saturday and it was full of all of the sincerity and joy that could’ve been offered. I’m over the moon for them.
Super excited for Erica and Drew’s Emerald Lake Lodge wedding to be featured on @rockymtnbride today! Congratulations again @erica.willemsen and @mnducky!

Truth. Weddings are expensive. Way too expensive.
I bought my wedding dress on sale and online for $168. We borrowed and bartered as much as we could. We picked vendors that immediately understood my vision for our special day but were okay with a small budget. And we went without a lot of pricey “extras.” Including having a bridal party. I think in total we spent $3,000. .
The weather was a nightmare, guests got lost and stuck, the ceremony started 2 hours late, and we never even got to cut the cake. But that day was perfect - it was rainy and muddy but absolutely magical. ✨ Because I got to marry my best friend in front of 60 of our closest family and friends. .
It’s not about the money you spend, the dress you wear, or how much you spend on a photographer and food. It’s about so much more than that single day, its about the promise you make to keep choosing your spouse the day after that day, and the day after that.
So if you’re in the middle of planning your wedding right meow, or will be soon in the future. Remember that if there’s some things left undone - that’s okay, you’re the only person that will notice. If there’s an issue with a vendor, approach them with grace and remember that shit happens. Remember that your dress will get obscenely dirty, and that means you did what you were supposed to - have a damn good time. There will be people that will make your day about them, take a deep breath and let it roll of your shoulders. And people won’t be able to make it because you know, life. 🤷🏻♀️
It’s all okay! You’ll make it. I promise! Your wedding day itself is only 24 hours on the journey that is your life. And you’re so much more than those 24 hours.

Have you tried our french toast bar yet? It's made with housemade maple candy, cinnamon and caramelized white chocolate...it tastes just like french toast, but no bread is involved!
I recently got asked what my favorite part of a wedding is... It made me think long and hard. I absolutely love photographing every moment from the moment the bride walks down the aisle to the last dance. But what gets me the most is the moments before when the mother of the bride helps the bride into her dress 😭😭😭😭 Hands down gets me everytime. I had such a special bond with my mother who unfortunately passed away from cancer when I was 19. So capturing this moment is extra special for me.
Before Natasha + Kory did their first look, I got them together for a first touch. Nerves can be at an all time high on your wedding day, the excitement and anticipation of everything that’s about to take place. It’s important to slow down, relax and take in all the moments of your day. My brides and I often talk about how you blink and it’s over; so enjoy it, breathe it in and soak up every possible moment together!
I'm heading to the airport soon for my trip to Iceland and Norway, and since I'm probably about to be rained on for the next nine days straight I'm leaving you all with some Colorado beach vibes from Nicolette and Jake's engagement session!
I'll be posting way more photos to my stories than to my feed this coming week, so make sure to check in there for all things waterfalls and fjords!
Traveling to Colorado opens my eyes to seeing God's creation in a whole new way.
I gain a different perspective, find inspiration from the mountain views, and recharge to do bigger and better things in my life and my business.
When I got this shot, my mom was driving through Garden of the Gods and I was standing out of the sunroof. The wind was blowing through my hair and the view was amazing. While I was doing that, my youngest son was sticking his head out of the side window acting like he was a dog and we were living our best life in that moment. haha
When can we go back?
Three years ago we had skateboarders flying down the bridge while we said our vows, a homeless man crash our wedding ceremony, and the best man brought a stripper as his date. Our wedding coordinator bailed on us and left the day in shambles, taking all the ceremony decor with her. So many things went wrong that day. I didn’t get that classic morning of getting ready with my girls or the moment with my mom zipping my dress up. And while it took me a while to get over the fact that my perfect day wasn’t perfect at all, looking back now, I love it. I love the crazy stories we now have. I love how I had wedding vendors like @oneofakindevents rise to the occasion and help set up 80% of the reception and a friend like @kelsirv89 who took over as coordinator and made sure I was fed and calmed me down after I burst into tears just moments before my ceremony. I love how the chaos made our first look so special, because it was one of the only calm moments of the day when it was truly just US. I love how its made me prepared for literally anything that could go wrong on my couple’s wedding day. And most of all, I love that I got to marry my 4th grade best friend - the one who shared a pet frog with me and who did all my math homework. Cheers to 3 years of fighting over who has to take the dog out to pee and eating way too much ice cream. Love you @bmacandcheese91
Next few posts on the page are going to be highlighting my favorite shots from a beautiful wedding! 😁
