Jill reached out to me over a month ago after coming across one of the survey fliers at @thefactorybouldering and @rockreation in OC. After some back and forth, we finally got together yesterday at Hanger 18 and had fun climbing and talking about the outdoor industry to bats to LA transit and everything in between.
Jill’s been climbing for over 15 years and started out as a tread climber but in 2008 she transition almost exclusively to bouldering. She put up first ascents in Joshua Tree (including 3 V10 FAs) and you can find images of her climbing in various Joshua tree guide books. On top of that, she is a wildlife biologist/ ecologist who works on exclusively with bats. How cool is she?
Her initial feedback were overall good but I’m interested to see what she thinks of the pants once she takes them outside since the they were designed with rope climbers in mind. Can’t wait to get pictures of her in action in Shiner! #Shiner
PS: Yes, she’s wearing a bat tank! 💪🏼💙
3rd pitch set on the boulder cave. What the crap was I thinking when I designed this thing. There is still one more, more extreme pitch left to sheet. Then it's on to the roof and remaining walls.
Always finding places to try new tricks... today we went to the first skate park built in Spain in 1979 (in Arenys de Munt, Barcelona)... not much left of it and pretty hard to get too. But totally worth it for the views! 😍🏂
Never be afraid to jump off the wall, you can catch yourself, after all if your brave enough to climb knowing you might fall, you always have the strength to get back up. This quote is for you @jordy.am_ ❤️❤️ Follow @anna.bp_ for more posts like this!
Really trying to up my route setting game at the moment while I'm plagued with injuries and illness 🤮🤢
This V3/4 has gone down really well at @fenrockclimbing

Looking for my next finger lock on Partner in Crime (11a)
This climb thoroughly thrashed me! Lately I’ve been saying I need to push myself harder when trad climbing and take more falls on gear - well yesterday I got just what I asked for in this route 😬
