For the past couple of weeks, Edith has immersed herself in the cartoon of the BFG. We tried it a year ago but she wasn’t bothered. Now she is a mature woman of 5 she absolutely adores it. Edie tries to watch it before and after school each day. She absolutely adores the ‘Whizzpopping’ song and she loves being scared by the Giants. As a mum, if this is the way my daughter gets into the world of Roald Dahl, then I am happy. Sir David Jason is the perfect BFG. On Saturday we watched he film which we both agree isn’t a patch on the cartoon. In Edith’s words ‘Sophie is a state.’ I have to agree. She is proper annoying. Mark Rylance’s BFG isn’t funny and the giants aren’t scary. The one exception is Penelope Wilton as the Queen. She is brilliant. Anyway I am chuffed she prefers the cartoon from 1989 which I loved as a child to the modern 2016 film. She is right too! #roalddahl#BFG#bfgcartoon#bfgfilm#davidjason#whizzpopping#mumofgirls#filmswelove#familyfilm#familytime

“Be an enthusiast in life," as Roald Dahl would say.
