San Diego -> Lake Havasu City
Day 3: On the third day we actually drove a lot. We passed Palm Springs and ate there at the local McDonald’s. We then drove by Joshua Tree National Park and ended in Lake Havasu City in the evening. We did a little walk around the town and visited the london bridge. In the early morning we hit the road again and were on our way to the Grand Canyon!
Wow! It’s been over two months since I’ve posted. Lots of change happening, and the universe just keeps lining up the opportunities ✨
A month ago, you couldn’t have convinced me that I’d be on a cross country road trip with my college roommate, on our way back to our childhood home. Yet here we are!
Always stay open to what appears in your life. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by circumstances ~ step back, take some deep breaths, and lean into the uncertainty. Trust your life. Everything is happening for your benefit 💜
VERY happy to report that our truck is fixed and we’re heading to Florida tomorrow! Long story short: the drive shaft fell out 😱 and it took them a week+ to figure out why it happened and then insurance was like “Thoughts and prayers, but we don’t actually care”. Jimmy from Chevy pulled through for us and fixed it. Still not sure if insurance will cover the $1,700 bill, but either way we’re off to the land of sunshine and glad to be starting the next leg of our journey. (Photo taken at Niagara Falls.)
Will you do me a favor?
Be your BIG self as much as possible today...
Be more caring, courteous, compassionate, and courageous...
Keep track of how this makes you feel...
And commit to doing this every day.
I knew I could count on you.
See you around.
Life is about stopping to pet the horses. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve learned a lot this year but one of the most important things I’ve learned is to take it slow. Enjoy the moment and stop rushing through it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Story Time: My sister and I were driving back from mammoth but we were still searching for some fall colors on the way back and happened to see these beautiful trees and a side road. I pulled off and we drove back to the trees we passed. We passed by some horses, admiring how free they seemed in the open field grazing. We got some photos of the tree and headed back to the highway. My sister @stoicalstella said “let’s stop and see the horses.” And when we turned around from admiring the scenery this little guy was waiting at the fence. It was the perfect ending to a great trip.
Now that I’m back in Maryland, it’s time to post a picture of Connecticut! This is the Lockwood-Matthews Mansion, which is one of the earliest built Second Empire style country houses still surviving in the United States.
