Slept in our first Walmart parking lot last night. The leaf blowers at midnight were a treat! The night before we slept in Santa Rosa’s Spring Lake Regional Park. Muskrat really liked the gophers. Then, the Golden Gate Bridge! And a 49-mike scenic driving tour around San Francisco where we repeatedly got lost. Will have to post Ian’s photo of the Palace of Arts - I didn’t know about that and it (among many other things) was AMAZING! #santarosa#roadtrek#glamping#chazandmuskrat#sanfrancisco
Panorama of an awesome campsite on Potash Road overlooking the Colorado River outside of Moab, Utah. One of the things on my short list to do in coming years is to get back there, this time with the motorcycle, and ride the white rim trail and other areas of Utah while camping along the way.
About to get started in Nampa, ID.... do the potatoes taste better in Idaho?? Really just not in the mood this morning, didn’t sleep great, woke up in the Cracker Barrel parking lot... I was hot, then I was cold...then the parking lot noise started EARLY!! This is beginning to sound like the diary of a drunk girl...waking up in random parking lots..nope it’s the van chronicles of a boy & a girl seeing what they can seeing and living the best life we know how... in a van🤨😊👫 So, enough with the excuses ☝️. Enough with the delays. The ENERJUICE is kicking in...and I’m as ready as I’ll ever be. Getting it done...WHENEVER & WHEREVER.
And so it begins. We bought Indi (Independence) over the 4th of July week. This was taken while she was still sitting in the showroom. Her maiden voyage was to Capitola By The Sea, Aptos, then to Big Sur. #roadtrek#vanlife#adventure#rving#glamping
remove and replace house air conditioner in #Roadtrek . removing the original Fedders 8k btu was a test of patience to say the least. took a few hours , but that was the most difficult part of this project. I had picked out a 8k btu for replacement. according to website posted measurements it would fit. bought it, took outside and unboxed to measure, of course it was 1/2 inch too wide. I mean absolutely no way it would fit. so I wound up buying a 5k btu to install. I didn't want to loose momentum on this project while searching for an 8k that will fit. so installed 5k , simple job . the other challenge was reinstalling rear vent and gasket. patience required. the 5k is okay but if parked in direct sun on hot day its not going to freeze you out. I use 12v fans to move the air foward to cab area. the opening on my Roadtrek for A C unit is 13" h 20" w 18"deep. I would advise going with the 8k btu after you find proper size. I will probably upgrade, since the hard part of removing fedders is done. the fedders was mounted on a bed of silicone caulk. a 2" bead underneath bottom and around edges. thats the most difficult part of this #Roadtrekproject btw, my #hondagenerator 2eu operates the air conditioner with ease.
