I don’t usually do midweek skin updates, but my skin has improved immensely since my initial breakout that started around week 3, & I want to share in case it goes bad again!
This week isn’t going so well because I feel so bored of the summer holiday now. As much as I hate the pressure of meeting uni deadlines, it at least means I’m keeping my mind active, & I’m just not doing that at the moment. I’ve fallen into very lazy habits, put on a lot of weight, & overall do not feel great. I do however want to say that I DO NOT believe that roaccutane is causing this dip in my mood, I always feel like this every mid summer break because I neglect keeping my mind & body active - something I will try much harder to do now I recognise how low it’s making me feel.
Anyway, I hope you are all doing fantastic!
Past midnight so technically I’ve completed MONTH ONE of my roaccutane journey!
Look at that whitehead on one of my cysts! Wanted to post it before I pick it off.
I haven’t noticed any drastic improvements yet, I am however over the breakout I had halfway though week 2, my skin has never felt softer, & I’m overall in a really positive mindset about the future of my skin!
I was so worried I would get really depressed since I already have depression, but I’ve continued with my medication for it & so far have no mental health affects - this could change but what a promising start.
My lips are DYING SIS, my skin is dry as hell to.
Here’s to another month & so on! ✨✨✨ #roaccutanelife#roaccutane#accutane#skin#roaccutanediary#acne#accutanejourney#accutanediary#dermatology
PRODUCTS POST 💦💦 I use cetaphil dry&sensitive skin formula one wash in the morning,
Then I moisturise with bio oil
I wear one or two pumps of the NARS sheer glow foundation in shade light 4 (such a beautiful & high coverage formula I highly recommend),
And the L’Oréal true match concealer in no idea what shade tbh 😜
Then I cleanse with cetaphil, two washes, in the evening,
And moisturise with bio oil again
Such a basic routine, please share your routines if you can be bothered to type it out I would love to know any recommendations, especially for this dryness!
3 WEEK UPDATE 💊
This has been a tough week - I’ve had the initial breakout & my skin is the worst it’s been for a very long time - many painful cysts have appeared on my chin area. Whenever I have a bad breakout it is always in this area. Also I’m on my period this week which may have had an impact but honestly my skin never gets noticeably worse during those weeks usually.
Skin is DRY DRY DRY as are my lips. No other symptoms like achy joints or bones yet. I haven’t had to wash my hair this week, usually I can get away with not washing it 4 days max but it’s day 7 today & not a hint of grease! Going to wash it later today though so I can feel good about something 🙄
Telling myself to hang in there, this won’t be forever 😩
Day 24. Swipe right ➡️ to see a pic I uploaded to my personal Instagram the other day. What drives me mad with having a skin problem is when other people tell you there’s nothing wrong with your skin. I know they mean well but it makes you feel like your problem isn’t appreciated. I’ve had acne for 7-8 years and in the past couple years all the stress with University and living in a damp dirty house has made my skin so much worse. I’m sick of the pain and the crazy sebum production and someone qualified to prescribe this thought I was the perfect candidate. Besides, make up is a pretty good mask. Pls shhh 🙄🤐 Side effects wise, the skin on the rest of my body is getting so dry, scaly and itchy and I’m really trying to catch up with it before the itch drives me insane. The combination of dry skin and sweaty weather in the UK is giving me eczema - something I’ve not struggled with since I was a kid. Time to get on that whole body moisturise 🤕 #skin#skincare#acne#roaccutane#accutane#isotretinoin#roaccutanejourney#roaccutanediary#roaccutanecommunity#roaccutanecommunityuk#roaccutaneprobs#roaccutaneproblems#roaccutanelife
Freshly moisturised 💦
It’s past midnight so technically this is still a 2 weeks on roaccutane update.
Skin is no better, I actually have a lot of big painful spots as you can see, although my forehead compared to 2 weeks ago looks great!
I’ve had a breakout on my nose, seems like every pore is clogged with a blackhead but I’m glad as this means they can go with time now they’re out!
My lips are so so sore & dry now, as is my skin but I enjoy it the dry skin element, as not looking like I pushed my face into a barrel of oil at the end of the day is comforting.
The daily routine 😅 can't wait until my treatment begins working, can't say I'm excited for the dry anus though. One of the things that most annoyed me with acne is when people say "but isn't wearing makeup making it worse?? You should stop wearing makeup, I hardly wear any". Like yes Fam I get it u have perfect skin, and yeah it's probably not helping but it's either put on makeup or not leaving the house.
Hey! I'm Ruby, and I have struggled with acne since I was about ten. After trying literally all the available (and experimental) drugs on the market, doing all the cleanses (The juice cleanse ripped me a new one), and trying all the skincare, I've finally been put on roaccutane. I'll be using this account to not only keep track of my progress, but also to help anyone else going through this ordeal. Acne sucks ass. If you have any questions don't be scared at all to DM me 🌻
Day 115. So exhausted today after work, it was so busy! This may be a little TMI but it's playing on my mind so I thought I'd mention it because I don't see other people talking about it. Since starting roaccutane I've had an extremely low sex drive. I decided to look it up online and had to stop because I saw so many stories of people who have claimed it's ruined their sex drive for life and even in men caused problems like impotence for years after finishing the course. Has anyone got any information on this problem as I'm scared to look online anymore, it was causing me so much anxiety! 😰sorry if this is too much or too personal but I'm kinda freaking out :( #roaccutane#roaccutanediary#roaccutanejourney#roaccutane60mg#roaccutanelife#acne#acneproblems#acnescars#acnetreatment#spots#badskin#skin#sensitiveskin#problemskin
