Oh, HEY I'm back this week with another episode of Workspacery TV — and this week, I'm sharing my three favorite workspace tools that help take my productivity to the next level! 🙌🏻 ⠀
I've been chatting all about different strategies, ideas, and tips lately for boosting productivity at home... but what about the physical components? ⠀
This week, I'm diving into my favorite workspace pieces, including one NEW addition that you all have been asking SO many questions about lately!!! 😍⠀

One thing I was most excited about seeing in New Mexico was the home of Georgia O’Keeffe. One thing that really resonated with me was that she lived out in the middle of the high desert alone. When asked if she was afraid she once said “I’ve been absolutely terrified every moment of my life and I’ve never let it keep me from doing a single thing I wanted to do”. What a lady.
Today was the perfect rainy day to get stuff done! I’ve got some blogs ready to go up and have been working on a wedding gallery to be delivered to an excited couple in a few days! Now it’s time to make some homemade tacos on this Taco Tuesday!
I HAVE TO KNOW... are you a Christmas tree up before thanksgiving kinda gal or does the tree make its debut the day after? 🌲
Still trying to decide what to do! I’m a Christmas year round kinda gal, so you’d think this would be an easy decision.
If you didn’t already know, Elf is my FAV movie of all time. (Not just fav Christmas movie, like literally my FAV movie.)
Thanks all for your support. The #ironmantri#nbcsports premiere was amazing! It will be broadcast Nov 24 on tv! We clean up nice! Today’s plans were to run in Central Park but the rain = ☕️ + 💻 instead. Followed by media appearances and photo shoot! 📷 Always laying the foundation. Seizing opportunities. Being grateful for what you get to do. That’s the attitude that wins even when it’s hard. 🖤
"Whether you are talking about albums in your initial client meeting or are communicating this product/service to your clients through a different avenue ... your WHY is always going to be important. I truly believe that an album tells the story of a wedding day in a way that no other product can and lives on to tell that story for generations. I make sure to share that belief with my clients throughout my interaction with them in various forms. I encourage you to know exactly what it is you value about albums and then build a strong, clear expression you can share with your clients, both in person and on your website!" ~ @melissajill #alignalbumdesign
In case you were curious... I love everyone I get to illustrate!
The ones who give me full creative freedom and the ones who have clear vision for what they want in their illustrations.
The ones who want a portrait for themselves and the ones who want one for a special heartfelt gift.
I love them all.
I’m not even exaggerating when I say I do a little happy dance with my girls when a new order is placed.
Your support directly impacts my family. My girls love seeing who I draw and learning something new about each couple or family. And they love putting stickers on packages getting mailed out.
It’s a family affair here. And we love each and every one of you 💕
Is it too early to talk about 2019? I've never been one for resolutions. I guess I just know that I'm not as likely to keep up with them as I might hope when the excitement of a new year & a new beginning kicks in. But yesterday I was working on @taraswiger Map Your Business book, planning for the year ahead, my goals and how I am going to get there. There was a section that required me to write down where I wanted to be in 5 years. Then in 4 years. In 3 years. In 2 years. In a year. And I found myself a little stuck. A worry came over me that I didn't know what I wanted from my life! But as I wrote down a list of things I'd like to have or be doing in 5 years time I realised that what I wanted in my life boiled down to 5 simple things. And it didn't matter so much how they became part of my life, but that they did. And it's the journey over the destination that mattered. Those things were 1. Financial Security & Freedom 2. Creative Fulfillment 3. Adventure Freedom 4. Confidence & Calm 5. Community & Love. Those are my definitions of success, my North Starts, the life I'm working towards. It's not about whether I'll get to lead photography workshops one day or win awards, or be published in certain magazines, but about having the opportunities to do work that is fulfilling, to do what I love. It's not about if or when I will buy a home of my own, but a sense of stability, and a place to host my people and a space to create a family. It's not about how many countries I'll tick off my bucket list by the time I'm 5o, but the freedom to travel and experience adventure. It's not about how much money I'll earn, but a sense of security, independence and freedom to make choices and afford nourishing experiences. It's not about fitness or things, but feeling confidence in my life choices, in my self and a calm in my days - a balanced & fulfilled lifestyle. And I am aware that I am not without all these things, but it's about bringing a better balance, tipping the scales from lack, worry, debt and isolation to abundance, comfort, freedom, connection. So in preparation for 2019, I am not making resolutions, but I am working on how I will tip this balance. *continue below*
The best part about being a photographer is getting to meet so many amazing people. Last week, I caught up with @shontay_a_lundy, the beautiful black queen 👸🏾 behind @blackgirlsunscreen. She handles most of her business on her own and has some amazing things in the works. It was an absolute pleasure shooting ya girl 🥰. // #shotbyonye
Isn’t she the most stunning bride, like ever?! I literally think she could have rolled out of bed, put on her wedding dress and still have looked this beautiful.
Ali + Ryan’s wedding day was crazy windy and this photo was taken near the end of their day and still— SO GORGEOUS. 🙌🏼 SOMEONE TELL ME HOW !!
Can’t wait to share a blog post full of this Colorado elopement!

Creative block. We’ve all been there. It can take the form of frustration, procrastination, questioning your path, questioning your talent...the list goes on.
If you’ve listened to the Her Process micro-pods, you know that one of the questions I ask my guests is, “When you hit that creative lull, what do you do to get past it?” Well, I’ve compiled the answers, and they are gooood! Some may even surprise you! Head over to my latest Her Process blog post, and get over that hump! ~ Linktree in profile
Introducing my client, U-S-H-E-R......R-A-Y-M-O-N-D. Nah, just kidding. This is just the celeb @lolo7721 thinks her hubby looks like! A moment I will never forget! 🙌🏼🙌🏼 this is why I love having my clients back year after year, they become friends, we joke, we cut up and just have fun!
But for real though, does he not look like @adamlevine ?? 🙌🏼🙌🏼
So so thankful for my sweet clients during this busy season. They know I’m stretched thin, and allow me time to edit without bugging me, they don’t judge when I roll up looking like a hobo, they just take me for me. Shout out to y’all, the real MVPs! 🖤🖤
Just a little sad I had my last wedding this past weekend for a while, till our babe arrives 👶 I’ll be missing it for sure! Here’s a sneak peek of D & A! Check more of their big day at @alyssakamerikvideography 🎥
One of my goals for 2018 was to dive into producing videos for my businesses and blogs. It took the better part of the year to get going, but I've actually been doing it lately: planning, recording, editing, and releasing videos for @easierbusinessblogging! This picture is actually a screencap from the video I shot for EBB's most recent blog post. ☺
Have you jumped on the video for business train?
Every year, I search high and low on this tree for the kids that are interested in the arts. Today, I found an 11 year old girl who wants a jewelry making kit 💎
Perhaps we have a mini boss babe in the making? I got you, girlfriend 😏👑
There’s a new wedding on the blog and it is just stunning! @shadowcreekweddings never fails to impress during golden hour! I loved all the details Samantha & Russell thought to include in their day... it was so personal. The plum, blush, and gold theme was SO pretty. I especially loved all the florals at the reception that just popped with color! @jmorrisflowers did an incredible job. Oh, and the dessert table by @signaturesweetsbyamanda... AMAZING. Seriously getting hungry just thinking about mini the key lime pie cups and the Virginia state sugar cookies!! You just have to see this unforgettable wedding! Link in profile!
Stop what you're doing! (Sorry, sometimes I just like to be dramatic.) But for real though, you should stop what you're doing and head to the link in my bio, because my brother and sister in laws wedding in Mesa, AZ is now on the blog and It's so freaking beautiful. Go now!

Had a lunch-n-learn seminar that I spoke out today, but me and the awesome @herrinalicia made time to go to the ribbon cutting at @eastcoastwings! So excited to get a new food place in Albemarle and to support a new small business!!! #shoplocal#eatlocal
I never heard the words, "I love you" come out of my dad's mouth growing up.
I also never heard a single praise, a good job, or that he was ever proud of me. Not ever.
I use to cry myself to sleep because all I ever wanted to hear from him was those three words.
Words of affirmation? Had no clue what that was until age 26. (I'm 28 right now)
In fact, this is what I heard instead. On repeat:
"You need to get straight A's , an A minus is not good enough"
"Turn off the lights, it's going to cost us."
"Work hard now, have fun later." was his favorite mantra.
"You need to do even better, if you're going to succeed in life."
My dad was the hardest hard-ass I knew. Btw, this is not a post to bash him, we cool now.
In Feng Shui; it is believed that our parents are assigned to us on purpose. Everything is essentially interconnected.
Life is always happens FOR you, at every single moment. Every person, every single situation is and was placed in your life for it's divine purpose; its up to you, to interpret the meaning behind it. Without heartbreak and rough storms; we can't enjoy the love, sunshine and all the good that the world has to offer. Without the Yin, there simply is no Yang. We need BOTH to enjoy the simple pleasures of this world. ✨
I'm incredibly thankful to have my dad, as my dad. I wouldn't choose it any other way. He has taught me what it was like to live in scarcity and it has pushed me to search for a life of abundance. If it wasn't for his hard-ass tactics, I wouldn't be so drawn and steadfast to learn ways to build business out of alignment instead of hustle. 👇🏻👇🏼👇🏽
What positive lesson did your childhood teach you about the way you see life? I'd love to know!
Last post from Stakes Day, where I would like to applaud myself for nailing my winged liner on the first go 👏🏽 Usually I i mess it up and have to try once or twice more - you know how it is, right?! So, cheers to me for getting it right on the first go 🥂💁🏽♀️
One of my favorite artists on Instagram (@emily_jeffords) always says that “progress is quiet and slow.” I’ve always liked the idea of the phrase, but it just doesn’t resonate with me. For as long as I can remember, my progress has come in like a bolt of lighting; fast and a bit unpredictable. For a long time I wished that it could be different, that I could shape my energy into a steady, consistent stream. But every time I try to work like that, my art feels dull and inauthentic. I’ve started to wonder why I keep trying to tame my creative process. Why do I keep trying to put myself in someone else’s mold?
Decorating for Christmas with our hoops, banners and @mydaughterflorence_ advent calender.

Today we took a few hours out of our busy schedule to help those in need. With a group from our local @risingtidesociety chapter, we went to @secondharvestsw to volunteer. During this time of giving, our project was to take a TON of rice, (yes, literally a ton) and individually portion them into 2lb bags of rice. We had an incredible group, including my tablemate, @maisonmeredith. Together we weighed, bagged, and stacked 2 whole pallets of rice. Great teamwork!
Have you given back lately? What will you do this season to help others in need?
